😂 I normally cut a stem or two while “pruning” thank goodness for side shoots. You talk to your plants like me. Fun update as always Emma 👍. Have a fab weekend, Ali 🌞🥵🇨🇦

I would say it's amazing that neighbour was allowed to get away with that for so long... but one of the shots over your shoulder seems to suggest that there are a few plots that aren't quite as full as yours. The main thing I notice is just how lovely and full and colourful your plot looks compared to the others that show up in some of the shots. Kale can be nice with a touch of oil, salt and cooked for a short time in the oven. It gets a bit crispy and can be quite nice. Today I went out to plant out some celery (never grown it before)... they were looking like they were more than ready to go out so I found some spots in the veggie patch and gave them their new homes... after doing a lot of unplanned weeding. I'm also seeing if I can start some tomatoes and capsicum/bell peppers in the greenhouse to get an early start on those... we've had a few warm days so it might be possible (though we are back to mid teens now).

I think I’ve done more ‘decorating’ than some other plots hahah! Most are just full of potato’s 😂 I’m getting better with kale, I’ll have it small quantities 😂

I grew my wedding flowers last year for my late September wedding. It was so lovely. Just make sure you grow much more than you need & dead head consistently. I made ny own confetti with the spent blooms too

Oh amazing! I’m excited and terrified at the same time 😂 I’m hoping to do confetti too! Thankfully my dad’s partner is a florist so we have a plan b if it all goes horribly wrong 😂 what flowers did you have? I’m thinking lots of dahlias, cosmos, sunflowers, ranunculus..
@Emsicurls4 ай бұрын
@@HouseOfTedYT dahlias, cosmos, chinese asters, hydrangea, daisies, Dianthus, harebells (as my husband is Scottish) dried poppies and alliums, with eucalyptus & ivy trailing through.

Wish I could post a picture. My friend is a florist and helped arrange them and dressed the venue. I had sentimental flowers from home in Lancashire, Ireland where I live and Scotland for my husband. As many in season and wild as I could with ornamentals to bulk out the bouquet. They smelled amazing

I have ONE pollinated pumpkin so far, I'm so so happy with it, it was my biggest wish to grow at least one this year 🥹 and that's just on our balcony. I hope to get an allotment too Somewhere in the coming years and you bet I'm putting pumpkins everywhere

Great update Emma! I love kale and make spiced kale crisps if we have too much. We have kuri squash growing and only one has fertilised, so i have bagged it up from critters and supported it on the trellis. Another one on the other plant is ripening already but it is very small. Is the round green one listed as a courgette or is it a summer squash? Not sure if we have sprouts yet but yours look fab! I just planted them and pretty much forgot about them as hubby does the watering/ fertilising. We went to our local playing fields today to do some blackberry picking and got 2.3kg. It's a massive long row of bushes behind some houses, next to some football pitches. Hubby, I and our child were only picking for less than an hour. They used to be mostly gone by now from people and wildlife picking them but a lot had gone off and dried up. Haven't been for a few years but the bushes have got bigger. I guess people around here aren't into picking them anymore as there were tons of them?! We have a blackberry plant growing over our fence and got a small punnet worth, which gave me the idea to go picking. I am going to cut it and put it in a pot for next year. I just wish it was thornless like the raspberry one a kind bird pooped out for us! The amount of scratches on me is mad! lol I have frozen the blackberries on trays to get rid of any worms for when i wash them and make jam, etc. Do you like blackberries and ever go picking/foraging? Great news on the neighbour plot. Hopefully, the new people will get on top of it and also not mow it on a windy day! Anyway, take care and have a great weekend!

The round one is a rondini (not sure if I’ve spelt that right!) courgette and it’s pretty much the same as a normal courgette but the shape makes it great to scoop out the middle and add a filling like rice or mince - yum! lol funnily enough I did some wild blackberry picking on our dog walk the other day! In the freezer now ready for jam at the weekend 👌🏻 have a lovely weekend too!!
