SMALL KITCHEN RENOVATION! IKEA CABINETS AND COUNTERTOPS

In our small studio apartment we wanted to have a functional kitchen so we decided to design our kitchen for functionality. We decided to go with the Ikea kitchen due to their modularity as well as customization possibilities. One thing that we had to compromise on was the cooktop. We wanted to have a full stove, but there just wasn't enough space so we decided to go with an induction cooktop from Gasland. Overall the kitchen is coming together nicely and we can't wait for the full reveal next video! Thanks for watching!

The countertops look great. I will add that with wood countertops the fit against walls should allow a little bit of room that can be sealed with silicone or caulk that is flexible because wood expands and contracts. If it doesn’t have that give it could end up cracking over time.

There are adjusting screws for the doors and drawer fronts to align them properly. Also, did you not use the cabinet legs? The cabinets need to be leveled. Yours seem to be angled down in front.

I didn't think dark grout would look good with white tiles but it does, nice, because tiles are easy to clean but the grout is not and who wants discolored grout.

I'm in the design phase - are those butcher block countertops really from IKEA? The one available from my local IKEA don't seem nearly as thick. Yours look to be about 2in thick and the one at my local store looks to be maybe one and a quarter inches thick. Confused!
