Wow the Rovitz-Videos are already 2 years old... it feels like it was yesterday. Nice to see Rovitz again in Ushea.

I have some idea for that eggs in a tree. Some legends about the Basilisk say the creature was "Created by hatching a chicken egg under a toad". And as both village and marsh are so close, I think that peasants could assume that it's basislisk eggs out there.

Mad I didn't instaclick. I love the idea of carrying forwards the old builds onto the new map. I always thought it'd be nice to see a filled out map, but progress keeps being swept back by moving to new maps, and building new stuff can take a while. So ferrying things over is a really cool way to do it - and it also makes for a decent video because you're almost showcasing the whole build without getting lost in details building new things brick by brick. I can understand some of the larger old builds might have some trouble coming across (anyone remember the old viking settlement?) simply due to size ofc, but certainly it'd be crazy to actually see the continent filled out.

I kinda love the idea of bringing back old bulds and making them fit. The series that made me fall in love with your style is the buildings around the marketplace in the rich people district of crassburg. Would love to see that square (or a similar style) return

I agree that the cliff makes sense. But I would probably add some smaller rocks and crags around the cliff’s base, particularly at the base of the cliff under the castle, and I would also gently raise the height of some of shallow hills around the village and castle and introduce other cliff-like features in the general region. Both of these things could help the cliff feel even more natural, I think. To me, it seems a bit strange to have a nearly perfectly flat marshland with little to no elevation changes and no rocks or other cliffs to suddenly have a single random cliff poking up. If I saw a cliff, I’d probably expect there to be similar rocky features or hills in the area. I’d also add groves of trees of the type that would normally grow in marshlands and swamps to help fill in some of the empty space around the village and castle, unless you already have a plan to add things there.

Good ideas! There is actually cliffs like this at Osterham, for the city and the castle, but I agree, more scattered rocks would look good

nice!!!! if you're going to rebuild/bring back old builds, maybe you could do Seafort and it's village somewhere near Lunden

I think it looks great - it’s nice to see Rovitz again. I think it would be nice to tie in the cliffs to the local area by adding some similar rock formations in the surrounding land

If you want to add a bit of real history to Rovitz, there is a folk tale from the city of Brno Czechia about a dragon attacking the city. Turns out it was just a crocodile but that could be the lore for the eggs in the tree🤣

Great idea! What, crocs on Czechia?

I would suggest changing the plan on the location of Skyhold. It would be too close in relation to the others already in the area. The main purpose of castles, forts, towers, etc... was to act as checkpoints and used to control the land. My suggestion is to place it in the mountains, just North of the rebuild location of Rovitz. Like in the area of the bottleneck West of the monastery (shown @11:44). Seems like it would be a natural area for a road and for a castle or fort to guard this area.
@Viggoman8 ай бұрын
Good suggestions! I agree its a bit close now

There looked to be a nice hill just beyond the fields of Rovitz where the ruin might fit well. It might have been abandoned and the settlement moved to its present location to be closer to the river and its trade? I was also excited by the copse just over the bridge near the bathhouse. The perfect spot for a lumber camp, or wood colliers making charcoal?

I love the rebuild, but I think the map is a bit small. At 11:42, when you zoom in the map, I could see that osterham was as big as the mountains on the right. You probably did this because a bigger map would be impossible to do alone, but it looks a bit small to me. Anyways, great job!
@Viggoman8 ай бұрын
It is a bit small indeed, and that was thw plan. Given this scale it is possible for one man, me, to completely cover the map with cities, towns, hamlets, farms etc over time. Now the walk from Osterham to Rovitz takes about 3-5 minutes, instead of 30 which it would have on bigger maps like Yarowyn. I want to detail every single part of the map
@gabrielemazzeo98218 ай бұрын
Yeah, i mean its better to have a smaller map, but full of details, rather than a huge one, which is almost empty @@Viggoman
