Small Pyranha Ripper on the Watauga River and Green Lite -After Paddle Review and Thoughts

I owned a S Ripper for some time. Fun boat, especially the speed and quick edge transitions, both thanks in large part to the very narrow 23” width you mentioned. Main complaints for me were the lack of bow rocker and low leg position. I’m 135 lbs, so I was close to the center of the weight range, but didn’t find it playful enough for what I wanted, and now I paddle an M Ozone for downriver play and surf. I love it, but obviously it’s a very different boat. I’d probably enjoy a Rewind, but I fall between the small and medium sizes (I’m 6’ so I don’t fit well in a small even though I’m ok weight-wise). Same probably true for Antix. Maybe a GOAT since I fit great in my Billy. 🤔

Yea the lack of bow rocker is probably the biggest difference between the ripper and rewind. It can be playful but I have learned it takes some time to learn the sweet spot in when to initiate the stroke for the stern squirt. I would definitely recommend the medium antix if you are looking for Downriver play. I could stern squirt that easily at my weight. You could definitely fit in a small ozone as well which would be way more playful than the medium. I had to add foam to the full bulkhead and had shoes on and it was still loose on me. I had to add 5 seat shins to that boat as well. The goat is not very playful at all but it’s a tank for down river. Thanks for watching buddy!
