@@capturedonline All is good thanks Lyn and I've been out more than ever this season thankfully and I can really feel myself breaking through the learning curve! I managed my first fish on a dry not too long ago, had a good day out on one of the Llyns and even blagged a couple days on the Test, which was an awesome experience. And then of course, busy exploring the Ogmore and Llynfi, which has been great fun, plus learning to tie a ton of flies too!

Thanks Alun. Hopefully I’ve captured the essence of small stream fishing somehow - as you know, it’s all about having fun and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings 👍

I have fished these smaller streams on fly and spinner for many many years. Im from Carmarthenshire so im surrounded by some great smaller streams/rivers. I find this sort of fishing far more rewarding that fishing the bigger rivers. Get into those 5-9inch brown trout but theres always a chance of landing the elusive bigger ones. Myself and my boy caught a brammer a few weeks ago up drwslwyn way behind the castle on one of the tributary rivers....it was around 14inches long and must have been around a pound and a quarter in weight. We were both very happy with that. Been really struggling with my health for some years now so haven't fished much the last 4 or 5 years but its such a joy to get out when i can & pass on my knowledge of small river fishing to my son. There is far more nuance and skill involved imho which makes the whole experience far more rewarding. Each to their own though. Great little video Lyn. 🎣

Brilliant upload no better place to be than the steam or river I would rather catch ten of those little fish out of beautiful places like this than any stocked still water or reservoirs Thanks for sharing always excellent quality 🎣

Small Stream Fly Fishing Lyn, nothing better. Watched the video from start to finish with a smile. I'll never get bored of this type of fishing, the trout you were catching are so similar to the ones on my local burn here in Fife, only seems to be me out on my local wee stream, other anglers give it a miss but there is something so special about it. Fun and exciting are for sure accurate ways to describe it. Subscribed👍

Came across your videos for the first time - really enjoyed looking at the small brownies - you put it across really well - well done - I am guessing its a trubutary of the Tawe but not sure?

Awesome video you catured what small streams are all about. I fish small streams here in Nova Scotia and its as much about being where the wild trout are as it about catching fish. Just a quick question how long did you say your leader is?

@@roncurrie5426 thank you Ron! Glad you enjoyed the video. Nova Scotia sounds interesting! My overall leader length is usually between 8-9ft 👍

Really enjoyed it, lovely wild Browns. Is the Simms bag a waist pack and is it waterproof?
@capturedonline3 ай бұрын
@@peterwelsh9509 thanks Peter! Glad you enjoyed the video - yes, those small wild browns have a special place in my heart. It’s actually a Simms sling pack I’m using, but wearing it almost like a waist pack to keep clear of the GoPro setup!

Wt3 is overkill for fish such size. Prefer wt1 or wt0

Glad you enjoyed the video! I have no doubt that lighter lines would suit others, but that old 3-wt had been on my reel for over 20-yrs, and it does the job for me just fine 👍👌
