Adam, I always appreciate you and your vids, but in my humble opinion this is when you’re at your absolute best….just traveling the backroads and tourist spots alike making observations and appreciating the moments at hand. Whatever your future brings I’m glad we have an archive of these videos. Be well!!

23:46 Hi Adam, husband of a beekeeper who is also a certified beekeeping teacher, here. I showed her this part of your vlog and after a quick count of the number of beehives (four per pallet) I arrived at 324 bee colonies. If those beehives indeed all have a population, we are talking about 12,960,000 (almost 13 million) bees. Greetings from the Netherlands

They were all double brood boxes, so you can at least double that, I was estimating 30 million plus

Breitbach’s is well known and a good place to eat if you’re ever in or near Balltown again. They also have great pies. The Dam Bar in Guttenburg has great burgers and a great view of the Mississippi River from their deck. You can also watch river traffic navigate through the lock and dam while you dine. It’s a relaxing place for a nice lunch.

Former Iowan here. Junior high, high school and college. This is a section of Iowa I’ve never spent much time in. Used to camp and fish in Yellow River State Forest not far from Decorah in northeast Iowa. Then over to Dodgeville Wisconsin to visit The House On the Rock. Otherwise I’ve traveled all over pretty much all of Iowa. My cousin and I just did an Old Guy’s Road Trip up the Loess Hills scenic tour in western Iowa along the Missouri River in early May 2024. We had intended to overnight in Minden Iowa but that town was heavily damaged by a nasty tornado before we were scheduled to be there. I’ll have to do a tour of these eastern Iowa towns on our next trip.

Very nice little towns you traveled through. I love the places that have under 1000 residents. It just feels like those places would be a very relaxing place to live. Out there with the farms and really the only traffic obstacles would be the farmers running their equipment down the road. That is a traffic jam I wouldn’t mind being in.
