Your garden looks fantastic. It's a real inspiration for me. I'm surprised how small your zucchinis are and yet they are already flowering. Keep up the good work! 👍

Yes this year the cold weather persisted in June. But I am sure my zucchini will grow now that the weather changed

You and I have similar raised bed design style in that we both like symmetry. After nagging my husband for two years to repair a rotted raised bed, I finally told him to lend me a drill, electric saw, and screws and I will repair it myself. Well, not only did I repair 3 rotted raised beds, I also redesigned the other beds to make the entire layout more symmetrical, added 3 new raised beds, built 2 cute patio planters for growing dwarf varieties of things, and built 2 mini pergolas/arbors to support a string trellis for tomatoes or cucumbers. I had 278 sqft of raised bed space, and now I have 342. My husband told me to stop building stuff. So I have now started a container garden. 🤣🤣

Everything looks good. I am experimenting too, I like to try at least one new thing each year. It keeps things interesting, sometimes they are successful and sometimes not so much but I learn so much. This year I have changed two of my raised beds to the square foot gardening method. I have also added a new no dig bed. I have lots of fun trying new things and wish you the best of luck with yours. Stay safe everyone and good luck growing.😘🤗
@SmallGardenQuest4 жыл бұрын
Great to hear that, that I am not the only one testing new things but I would disagree with you when you say that some test aren't so much successful... Every test is successful because with every test you learn something :) Wish you all the best with your square foot garden! PS I would love to see some pictures of your garden. You can post them on my FB page :)

@@SmallGardenQuest Quite true I stand corrected. Sorry I can't post I don't do Facebook. Utube is as social as I get otherwise my sisters would get me involved in their quarrels. I am best off out of it lol!😁🤗

Another great video! I love your raised vegetable bed. I looks so charming, and the vegetables are looking good. It has definitely been a strange year, weather-wise, but I’m sure those veg that are a bit behind will bounce back.
@SmallGardenQuest4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes they will bounce back. I will loose a few growing days but in the en the produce will be here 😊

Might have something to do with the solar minimum and our shifting , loosing strenght magnetic shield. It has been a strange weather all over the globe. In the future gardening, gardeners and farmers might have to adapt the way they cultivate to those climatic changes.

You're very intelligent and I have really loved watching this take shape. It would be a benefit to us all if you figured out a square foot garden that will produce most of the vitamin and some of the caloric needs for 2 people, especially if you did a collaboration with a chef and made recipes for it all... Much love!
@SmallGardenQuest4 жыл бұрын
In my garden I went with vegetables that are the most expensive in the supermarket or that the taste is much much better if home grown. I didn't look at vitamins and calories. But what you see is more than enough for two

That trellis is beautiful, and you have a wonderful garden! I grow in regular beds, but like you I don't like to have "miniature monocultures" and each variety of plant grows in many different places, except for corn which I plant in blocks for the pollination. I think it looks much nicer to have a good mix of plants in a bed, it's better for the soil, and I can plant a LOT more food that way.
@SmallGardenQuest4 жыл бұрын
Also I think that the pests are confused when they can't find one big spot with the crop that they like 😊 and a garden that has some mixed plants looks more natural in my opinion 😊

I used hay in two of my raised beds yes. They work practically the same 😊 the only difference is that with hay you get a little bit more weeds
