Fonterra wire cuts andy They still make the metric ones at most builders merchants but stopped making the imperial ones a few years ago! I tried everywhere to match those, Tried all over London to find a match, A place in Abbey wood had some but not enough! Ended up using the metrics and bumped up the beds! Not an exact match as the metric ones don't have the deep wires like the imperials, We used them on jack walls in the old days before everything was blockwork, as you can skim to them!
@bricklayersworldwithandy62777 ай бұрын
I know everyone is calling them wirecuts as they look like wire cuts, but these are a pressed fletton brick the manufacturing process is completely different from how a wire cut is made. I might have a drive around the estate and see someone is doing a knock through and get a better look at one 😁
@kirkhogan26887 ай бұрын
@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 They are a flettons andy, Alot of suburban areas of London used these after the second world war ,alot of housing was built with these! I contacted numerous people to try and find them, And that was the name they got back to me with! They are definately a fonterra I built a house in Leyton with the fonterra fletton types in imperial, they only sold that type up north!back in 2014 The ones in your video I tried to match before Xmas and was told that they didn't make these anymore So I used the fonterra fletton wire cuts in metric,
