Everybody keeps talking about what a cesspool of humanity KZbin comment sections are. I am basically subscribed to six or seven mountain biking channels and you commenters on these are a crystal clear spring water pool (opposite of cesspool?) of humanity. Mountain biking just exudes positivity, the MTB KZbinrs distill it, and we get to drink it. If the world were run by people like Lee, Alex, Seth, Porter, Yuka, etc, there would be no wars. Just stoke.

A message to Lee, I'm glad you didn't choose the other direction. I've been there, and you're right, these sports will give you an escape to a place away from lifes problems. Surfing was mine for 40 years, and that ended. I was depressed and having a very difficult time. Then I rediscovered bikes. Thanks for making these videos for us. I'm sure it's helping people.

Alex, finding your channel has convinced me I'm not completely insane. I'm 45 and spent most of my life on a flatland bike. My wife thinks I'm nuts for starting to get into MTB but I can't help it... absolutely love it. I even ride with the soundtrack to Rad pumping through my AirPods as I try like hell to remember everything you and Lee tell me in your videos-("levers, man... it's about levers!!"). And... imagine my surprise when I find out it's the same Alex Bogusky I heard and read about in my advertising world. You bring the same passion to this channel and your riding as you did with your creative career. Right on, man! So awesome. Keep it up!

OK, Alex = Great Lee = Great Alex + Lee x synergy = Amazing My wife and I are 60 yr old trail riders trying to build our skills, and as such I really appreciate the thoughtful presentation of the content in these video's. We need to be safe but we still want to ride cool stuff. Quoting Monty Python, "I'm not dead yet" and we can out-ride many riders 20 years younger than us. That being said we need better, safer instruction. You guys deliver. I wish we could take private classes with you two! Keep up the joint videos guys, they are indispensable to the MTB community. I used to tutor high school kids in math and physics. One year, there was this kid who wouldn't understand anything I explained no matter how I tried. I figured out he liked cars, and so started to change all my explanations into car explanations. Acceleration, hydraulics, friction, fuses and currents, batteries and electric potential. Anyway, it worked. Wondering if mountain biking would do the same for some kid out there as well!

There is a base, essential feeling of joy that most of us have as kids, then life takes shape and a lot of things cloud that feeling and sometimes even bury it. Mountain Biking has the ability to take us back there while also making us reevaluate what is important in life. We all struggle through life and have different coping mechanisms, some virtuous, others not so much. As we enter middle age a lot of questions come up and we try to answer them with our heads or intellect, but sometimes the answer is more primal and not less valid. Mountain Biking can be a part of that answer to a lucky few of us and I am so happy Lee has that in his tool box for himself, but also he and Alex are helping us realize we have it too. Keep it up, you are doing something special here. I am fully committed to keep playing with dirt with you guys.

Alex and Lee - nice additional wall video, nice to see you thinking so carefully about progression - and that made me think. I was at the pump track with the Grom at the weekend, and although he's only 15, he was doing some great coaching of an eight year old. The thought is this: many of your 'more mature' watchers will have improved using the excellent instruction approaches which you have established in your videos. And many of those 'older' (er...silver tinged) riders will, like me, have young ones which they are encouraging into the sport. So every so often, how about a session on when to start young ones, what to encourage them to do, how to keep them engaged? I did it by getting him on a balance bike early. Then a series of nice, light bikes. Then at age 10, onto a carefully-built sub 9kg 24 inch hardtail. First time out on this, after some easy trails, I decided to let go in a BIG way down a BIG hill, and wait for him to see how he was doing. Only when I stopped, he had been on my back wheel the entire time. 'How was that?' I said, astonished..'er...fine..?.' he said, somewhat bemused. We've never looked back. Now it's me trying to hang on to his back tyre....But perhaps some vids to spread the love amongst the tiny offspring of the 'over the hills' Joy Riders might be a thought.....?

The 'how to boost' video(s) with Pepper are some of my favorites because of the slowed down almost frame by frame explanation of body position, bike position, arms and legs......etc. You can watch a jump in real time and appreciate it, but slowing them down like that really gets the message and lesson across.
