As an old fart, I remember the AR/M16 magazine was the weak part of the system back in the 1970's/80's. When Magpul first came out with their magazines, we all celebrated and finally felt they had cracked the magazine code for reliability. Once again, an excellent video and information.

Good one; I was also an early PMag adopter and believer/convert. I haven't used anything else ever since. I already stocked up on Gen3 windowed PMags in black and coyote tan, but I'm still going to grab a bunch of the TMags just because they're cool. I'll have so many PMags that If there's ever another federal ban on standard capacity magazines, I'll be able to start a magazine trafficking cartel.

They need to figure out reenforced feed lips. The coyote gen3 is now the standard in the Army and from what i've seen my opinion on PMAGS isn't what it used to be. From about a year of regular use in a mobilization station, the feed lips fatigue, spread and cause regular double feed and bolt override malfunctions. I'd never seen a bolt override in my life, i got on ground with that mission and saw 3 on my first day at a zero range. Threw them away and had the unit order new ones. Then at the range on my personal time i had a black 20 round PMAG in my MK12, barely used, a couple years old but practically new double fed on me. I unloaded it to check it out, the follower was sticking up above the feed lips which is how i identify mags that need to be replaced in my gov job. I can't imaging the TMAG being even as strong as the coyote mags given the troubles they've had developing them. Again, magpul needs to take a page out of lancer's book. I'd like to see what they could do with metal injection molding. If the solid jaw on the MBUS pro can handle being torqued onto a rail, that material would be great for feed lips.

The mag covers thing about taking pressure off of feed lips is complete internet lore. Magpul has completely dispelled this 100’s of times. They’re literally for dirt/dust in a war zone.
@DDDontCare3 сағат бұрын
I disagree. Speaking from experience I have had polymer Amend2 magazines, which are otherwise great magazines, stored for extended periods of time that stretched out the feed lips because they had no cover to push the rounds down. Whereas my MagPul magazines come with covers, and I use them and have never had an issue. Now it is a possibility that Magpul uses a better polymer, but this is just what I saw personally.

Id take Magpul over lancer, lancer doesn't make a bad mag, I stepped on a lancer and the steel lips popped out
@msquared96055 сағат бұрын
I love lancers. But there’s no denying that without their metal feed lips, they would be neck and neck with pro mag and ets mags. They can get away with using a low quality polymer because of those metal feed lips. Also, compare the springs of a magpul and lancer. Magpul springs are much stronger and stiffer

Interesting. I have pmags of various generations. C products, bushmaster and Windham metal mags. Fully loaded and used randomly and put back in the drawer loaded. I can open my drawer and there will often times be loose ammo in the drawer. When this happens the culprit is always a Pmag with feed lips spread like Stormy Daniells.
@arlissyoung88995 сағат бұрын
That's what the clip that snaps over the top of the mag is for that most people don't use. Use as intended and you won't have that problem. Now ask me how I know. Just try the same thing with Pro mags they give out in no time as I have a number of them that's done for.

I bought these probably three or four months ago from gun mag warehouse, honestly I’m not impressed. I would rather run a Lancer mag or just regular P mags with a window they failed the slap test where you hit the bottom of the mag and I’ve had three or four rounds pop out and that’s a no go for me
