Terrorist Attack in Istanbul

On Nov 13, 2022 a terrorist left a backpack with a bomb in it on a bench in a crowded area of Istanbul, Turkey. This video takes place 30 minutes after the bomb exploded. It's raw, and you can see I don't know what's happening for much of the video. I don't wanna spread wrong information but I was figuring out what was happening as I was recording.

I felt the same way. I arrived in Turkey that morning but was staying in a hostel in the Old Town at the time. Having that happen so early on in my trip I immediately thought about returning to the states. There was definitely a very somber feeling throughout the country but the people are so amazing and resilient. Shops stayed open and mere days after things felt back to normal. Despite of what happened I definitely would like to return one day as no place seems safe anymore.

When I see the little footage in the japan videos of you trying to go to Istanbul I was so happy to see you going to Istanbul and then I saw this video. I am really sorry that you were in Istanbul for probably the worst time possible. Normally if you know where to go and how to go somewhere in Istanbul it is pretty safe almost like a normal European city but it is kinda middle east too. I used to know a man who was from Turkey. He eventually moved to the U.S. but returned to Turkey for business trips. He was there when a bomb exploded, and immediately made arrangements to fly back to the States. He evidently didn't feel safe and he was from there. I'd love to visit Istanbul but then I hear about these things. But, then I visted Egypt and people back home asked, " weren't you scared?"

0:33 You past the building entrance where we stayed in August of this year on Asmali Mescit Cd. Stayed in Istanbul for 6 nights with the family. Loved Istikal Avenue. Atmosphere was great despite it being crammed full till midnight every day. So sad that people lost their lives. Thoughts and condolences to those affected by the bombing. Stay safe on your travels.

Keep in mind to stay away from bombing sites as some bombs - especially sound bombs - can be decoy bombs that terrorists aim to gather people to the area exploiting their curiosity and explode a second bomb that would make the real damage. So anyway I enjoy your videos. Stay safe buddy.

The bomber actually got caught a few days later and was revealed to be a female PKK militant from Syria named Ahlam Al-bashir. The Hoodie guy has a Slavic accent he's probably Russian or Ukrainian. We have a lot of Ukrainians as refugees and quite a bit of Russian draft dodgers who understandably don't want to die in some stupid invasion and to leave their families orphaned.

I remember the day this happened. I was nearby Turkey has been safe for a good amount of time, but after this attack we can never be %100 sure of security. That guy made it from some arab country to all the way to istanbul without anyone knowing, it's crayz to think about. I am about to say something that you might not know: Those sitting areas, trees and bushes planted inside that you can see behind the guy in the video at 1:55, are one of the main helping factors that led this to happen. Those sitting areas helped the bomb planter to place the bomb around them. And guess who put them in the ISTIKLAL road? The Istanbul government which is governed by the opposing party. Those benches weren't there in the past. They have been warned that putting those benches in this area is dangerous, but they did not listen.
