Smaller and Noisier Multi-item sorter (Java Edition)

But if you are happy to use a datapack to reduce dropper noise, and you want a build similar to my previous encoded multi item sorter but with less space taken up by the redstone, this is the video for you.
Its basically the same as the previous design, but the clocks pulsing the dropper towers in each slice have been replaced by an observer on the repeater that unlocks the hopper into the dropper tower. I've also removed the clock on the shulker detecter and re-purposed the pulse from the dropper tower that comes up from the input chest.

Yes, but the redstone is more complex, and isn't one of my designs. If you are happy to use minecarts (and add a chunk loader) you can go with this design by Lummie Thief kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZy9lXpvhcSahtE If you don't want to use minecarts and are happy with almost hopper speed you can go with this design by RaPsCaLLioN1138 kzbin.info/www/bejne/opjQc2Owo72bqKM Or you could use this design and not have the chests on their ends (e.g. 2 wide chests arranged 1 deep, rather than 1 wide chests arranged 2 deep). This design was made after I saw RaPsCaLLioN1138's design - my goal was to make it smaller and simpler and was willing to sacrifice number of sorted items per column to do it. The reason is very simple - I don't have the same amount of sand, as I have smooth sandstone steps. If you start with the idea of mixing two different types of sorting methods depending on how many of those items you have, the result can be simpler overall, rather than trying to take one approach that is good for everything from cobblestone to netherite scraps. Hence, cut-down version of RaPsCaLLioN1183's design on the top, SamosTheSage's reserved slot on the bottom. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ap_CeZSpf6yGaac Another benefit to this approach is I'll never not be able to find a diamond because its stuck in a hopper behind something I have 5000 of and just happened to sort in the same slice.
