That “slightly recessed” button is actually pretty slick! Where would someone get one of those smaller power buttons? Did it come with the case? This is the kind of thing I’m looking to do. I’ve got an R5 8600G right now, in a knock-off A01 case, but I’d like slightly bigger to have a dedicated gpu. My 3080Ti is too big for any of these attempts, so I need something much more low profile (I’m a trucker and trying to get the smallest system I can get without resorting to a potato).

The irony of what you said though, is my main battlestation which utilizes the Sapphire Nitro RX 7900XTX, the thing is ridiculously huge. But it fits EXACTLY in the CoolerMaster NR200P. 😂

I ended up building a very similar build and I want to point out that the power supply is insufficient. This system at peak can pull 280 watts, and with power supply used in the video, you'll run into stability issues (ie my system would eventually crash during gaming). To solve this, I ended buying the HDPLEX 500W HiFi DC-ATX, and the system now runs perfectly. The major obvious downside is that the HDPLEX 500W HiFi DC-ATX requires an external power brick, so it adds overall computer bulk, but its still an awesome build.

Another wonderful build, and excellent production quality. So, well done, again, as always! I actually have this exact same case, still in it's box unfortunately. I also have the same power supply and cooler. I've been planning a similar build to yours, but I've been too busy to get it done. So, you beat me to it! I was planning to use the RTX A2000 GPU though. It would have been good if you could have included power consumption numbers, worst case under load. The power supply limit of 250W is quite limited, but it's probably OK since your chosen CPU has is very efficient. That was my main reason for thinking about using an RTX A2000, as it's TPU is only 70W. My main aim is to built a PC that will be used mainly for work with the ability for occasional gaming, so I wanted to focus the available power to the CPU. I really like this PSU, as it is extremely small and yet it has passive cooling and is therefore silent in operation. Compared to, say a flex ATX PSU that is also small but relatively noisy. My only other comment I have is about the power button. The fact that the smaller power button isn't flush with the case is a bit of a bummer. I was wondering if it would help if you added a spacer (like a plastic washer or something similar) between the smaller power button and the plastic adaptor that you have taped to the case. That might help to raise the power button so that is becomes flush with the case. If that works, it would be a big improvement IMO. It might be just me, but I'm a bit OCD when it comes to things like that lol. Great job though, love your work!

I also put the 4060 LP with i5-12600k into a 4.3L ZS-A4DC v3, a sandwich design case. Enough cooling for my set but the PSU will receive half of the heat from the 4060 and the case was hard to build. This 5.3L case was not as small as the A4DC but the layout is much more user-friendly and can use a larger CPU cooler.

There is also the J-Hack Stratos X (4.6 liters) which will let u install the 4060 lp and hdplex 250w and the Custom_Mod Mini LP case (4 liters) which can fit the 4060 lp and a flex PSU. There are already many builds out there using the 4060 and stratos x. What i do like about LAZER3D cases is their quality is amazing! But i do think that with it being over 5 liters space utilization could be better. The 250 watts psu limits the cpu usage.
@markdavies981 Жыл бұрын
I agree about the 250 watts power limit. That is the main limiting factor for a build using the RTX 4060, as it limits CPU choice to ones with low TDP. The thing I like about this case is the support for quite large SFF coolers. The Noctual L12S is actually quite big, and a very capable cooler. I'm currently using one to cool an i7-8700k, which is running overclocked to 5 GHz and is pulling about 160 watts, and it has no problem keeping it cool. That doesn't leave much room with a 250 watts PSU. If I was to use this case I would cap CPU power to something like 140 watts or so, and probably use an RTX A2000 GPU. I think that would be a good match. BTW, HDPlex now have a 500 watts version of this power supply, although it will probably be too big for this case. Free shipping worldwide for $175 US, which I think is pretty good value.
@redalcatel27 Жыл бұрын

@@redalcatel27 Thanks for your reply. I like the J-Hack Stratos X, as that looks similar to the Lazer 3D case, in the sense that it has room for 70 mm CPU cooler. It also supports the 250w HDPLEX, and the Gigabyte 4060. This looks very interesting. I wasn't aware of this new case. Thanks for the heads up!!
@markdavies981 Жыл бұрын
I'm still a bit concerned about the 250w PSU though. 300w would be ideal IMO, but I guess it should be OK with a low TDP CPU. Having said that, anything more than 250w would probably overheat anyway in such a small case. So, I would guess 250w would be the sweet spot. I'm still thinking A2000 with a low TDP CPU and the 250w supply is optimum for both of those cases, including the Lazer 3D and the new Velka 3. I would like to see more thermal results with the low profile RTX 4060.

I was very close to get one of those Minisforums machines but after seeing that for that price you can build a 1080p destroyer, I feel I can’t justify the expense of a mini PC. Atm I feel the Fractal Ridge would be the best case, is not that compact in footprint, but I’m thinking could maybe slide under the display or somehow attach under the desk. I want something small also to easily move it and attach to the TV. I’d get a new laptop but feel the expense is too much comparatively
