I've owned a Kel Tec KSG for years and love it. The action was stiff out of the box and I had a problem with short stroking it at first but after about a hundred target loads it was broke in and worked flawlesly. A two foot long truly ambidextrous boom stick with 14+1. Only cons are it kicks like a mule and it takes time to reload all 14 shells.

I always keep a 12 gauge as a home defense backup, but still prefer pistol. One thing I have gotten into recently has been pistol caliber carbines, for home defense. A 9mm and 45 ACP, can use same Glock mags as pistols.

A shotgun isn't for home defense unless you plan on doing a lot of redecorating after the incident. That's what handguns are for. Close combat.

Best russian shotgun for home defence is Vepr 12 vpo-205-00 and not that soya version of mp-155. Mp-155 is good shothun for hunting but ultima version is not popular even in Russia.

Actually shotgun are very common for self defense; just like a handgun, semi-auto rifle. Any fire arm for home defense is better than no fire arm for home defense. Nothing says “GTFO!”, like the racking of a shotgun. The sound alone causes people to run; I know from personal experience.

The best tactical shotgun for home defense is the $ 50 to $100 pump gun you bought from a pawn shop or flea market or gun show. If you use any gun in a home defence situation you will most likely never see it again. The police will confiscate it for evidence for your trial for deadly force. If you are acquitted you will be able to buy another firearm after the wrongful death law suit from the family of the victim you killed. if you are convicted you will imprisoned and should be released not able to own a fire arm since you are a convicted felon. Either way the firearm will be destroyed.. it's very unlikely you will be given your fire arm back. Remember make sure there are more than two of them. If you kill one the accomplices go to prison for murder instead of you..
