Wow, your timing was perfect on this. I'm doing a video shoot tomorrow and needed a way to support my Rode Stereo Videomic Pro on a table to record a group of 5 people. It was just delivered and it is exactly what I needed! Plus I'll have it in the future to use with my GH5 when it comes. Thanks for the great review!

I use my manfrotto 709B as mini tripod and vlog handle. Really works great and is super stable

I've had one for a couple of years, it's a very useful addition to my Panasonic. Wouldn't be without it. I don't over tighten the thing, just turn it 270 degrees clockwise (or is it anti-clockwise...?) when folding up.

Cool. On mine I had to tighten it, otherwise it would come undone whenever I pan the camera left, or when I open the legs.

It stays on mine fine, but will loosen if I fold it up the 'wrong' way. Try yours on a different body as your tripod thread might have some wear?

I've had mine for awhile. Never thought it could handle a 5D3. Too bad I use my 24-70 99% of the time. It's a bit much on the weight lol

Just a useful option when you want to travel super light. I hate carrying gear but there has been loads of times I have wanted something to keep my camera steady when I haven't bothered to take my Mefoto Roadtrip (a very compact but sturdy tripod). I think for vloggers and phone photographers this could be really handy :)

Personally I don't use this metal one, but I use a gorillapod aaaaalll the time. I'm actually gonna get a YI 4K+ camera, which might become my workhorse for youtube videos, and I'll be using the little Action Gorillapod which is only 191g with head, but still works amazingly well as a shoulder support for a gopro sized camera, and for a tripod, selfie stick, etc. I find it so much more enjoyable to travel without carrying heavy stuff. :)
