Aemond got bullied and then his eye was taken away. Aegon became alcoholic because he was the first firstborn in the Targaryen family and in the whole Westeros who wasn't named heir + he married his sister at 15 Alicent paranoia and lack of affection played it's role but Daeron just didn't get to much pressure as a 3rd son, which let him grow healthier.

The other two dragons Vermithor and Silverwing actually did have riders. Vermithor was ridden by King Jaehaerys, the king at the beginning of the show that picked Viserys to be the king, and Silverwing was ridden by his wife Alysanne.

Sad part is I think the Knight probably could've claimed another dragon but Seasmoke seems to have preferences. He likes that sea faring life and Velaryon blood. Hell, he went out and found Laenor's half brother to replace him and he's been eyeing him for awhile. There's some interesting talk that this might mean Laenor's died wherever he is. Mainly because it's not known if dragons can have two riders at once and it's been over 10 years.

Laenor is dead, without a doubt, that's why he'd grown restless, since dragon and rider are psychically linker. Also, Steffon would have had better luck with Seasmoke than Vermithor and Silverwing. Vermithor is an ornery old bull, and the second largest of the Targaryen dragons, that even made Daemon stand still, and is feral enough that he nearly killed RHAENA *TARGARYEN* when she tried to claim him. Silverwing is the calmer of the two, but is still as old as her husband, and as feral, so not much better.

Velaryons *are* from Old Valyria. But on top of that, they've been intermarrying with the Targaryens the moment the latter came to Dragonstone. It's safe to say that despite being a Velaryon bastard and not related to Rhaenys, Addam has a significant amount of Targaryen blood via Corlys, even though Corlys himself never rode a dragon.

@@refilwe9954 truthfully, it’s both. Having Valyrian blood gives you a boost, but it’s not a deciding factor, which Nettles displays in F+B. A commoner of unknown blood origin, and she becomes the rider of Sheepstealer. It’s honestly the reason why I’m pissed Rhaena is going to get Sheepstealer. Addam of Hull, while certainly having the sort of will and disposition that would attract a dragon as a rider candidate, has Valyrian blood- both via the Velaryons and the Targaryens, because Corlys has Targ blood in him as well. The Velaryons and the Targs have intermarried ever since the latter came to Westeros after the Doom. It’s also why I’m pissed Jace has that line in the trailer. Addam fits the bill for a dragon rider both in blood and in personality. Maybe Jace is pissed because Addam isn’t of noble blood 😂 In which case I have no sympathy for him. I get his frustration with his mom’s lack of action so far (I’m irritated too), but Jace is a privileged twit. Displayed best in episode one with Cregan

Was obvious the knight would be rejected by Seasmoke..i think 2 or 3 episodes ago they gave a little foreshadowing when seasmoke flew near the sailor looking for seashells. Almost like seasmoke has beeeen watching him.
