I Made A Castle For Every New 1.17 Block!

Today I went a bit crazy and made a laod of castles, each taking around 3-4 hours to make! I really enjoyed making them and think they turned out great, subscribe if you're new :)

Honestly, diorite is so underrated. It's 100% my most used accent/texturing block. It works so well with blocks like white concrete and white terracotta. It also really provides that contrast for blocks like you said: granite, spruce wood, or even brick

White powdered concrete works great with calcite. Used it on a waddle-daub style medieval building recently and it turned out quite nice.

Dripstone castle looks a bit like how one might imagine Redwall to look. Less rectangular on the outer wall, sure, but still it has that dusty sort of pinkness the sandstone was described as having thanks to the granite bringing in the rosy warmth of the build. Calcite is my favorite, though! As much as Deepslate is very dim, and muted, it looks good. Tuff was also really nice; love to see that fully furnished in an adventure map as a questing hub. Still, imho, Calcite is the best! It truly does capture that bright, sweeping airiness of palaces inspiring this style build.

that dripstone castle looks more like a fortress at the nation border during active medieval war. Looks amazing!
