Smallville Complete 20th Anniversary Blu-Ray Review

Truthfully I’ve never seen Smallville. But even I recognize it’s impact is about as strong as the DCAU or Arrowverse. Hope to see a Top 10 list some day on this show.

Simplistic version of my thoughts: seasons 1-3, 5, 7, and 9 are good. The rest is a frustrating mess at best.

I'm a big fan of those guide books too. I'll always hang on to the old DVD boxes because of that.

Pre-ordered this as soon as I found out and got it a few weeks ago. Having fun revisiting this show after some time has passed. Also love how it takes up far less space than the ginormous DVD cases I bought originally..

Your Smallville DVD collection sounds like my Frasier DVDs. I lucked out in that I've got a bit of a pattern though. S1-3 is the slim plastic clamshell, then 4-6 is thicker cardboard slipcases, then back to clamshel for 7-9 & finally alternating between cardboard and clamshell for the last two seasons. I am both annoyed and fine with how it looks on a shelf.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cares about the Smallville DVD episode guide booklets 😂 For whatever reason I thought those were cool when I was a kid. If I ever upgrade my Smallville collection to blu ray, I'd still probably keep my Smallville DVD's. I'm too nostalgic for them.

I got the complete series box set on dvd about 7 or 8 years ago, that included one single episode guide booklet for the whole series

I kinda wish they used a different cover for the whole set. It's plain and Tom's face. That's it. I do like the Superman suit encased in crystal, that's cool.

Reminds me of the top 10 episodes of 60's batman when the complete series Blu ray came out. Wish you would do that for Smallville too cap

It’s too bad we don’t get the digital code option in Canada. Supernatural complete series is the same way. It appears to be a USA only perk. I understand it’s due to licensing and restrictions and stuff, but still sucks.

It's crazy how much reach Smallville has. I guess the idea of mixing Superman and Dawson's Creek was really novel at the time. I ate that shit up. I loved the series until season 6 or 7. Never watched it until the end. I was a young teen at the time and I pretty much wished I was Clark whenever I watched it.
