This is a tough scene to watch because Zod straight up tells Clark he couldn’t save him, that he is a damned soul basically no matter what he or Clark wants for him. Course maybe he meant he literally can’t save him because the wound is fatal but I think he meant more than that. Zod certainly had no fear of death and was willing to die for his people. He even wouldn’t let Lois risk herself for him so surely there is some good in him

I can’t help but wonder why Clark didn’t try this with Jor-el a few episodes earlier. I know he didn’t have any kryptonite to hand, but he could have pierced his own skin with his teeth.

It made no sense how Clark's bloood would have eliminated the blue-k from Zod's or any other Kandorian's body. The bits of blue-k should not only have remained in their systems but also neutralized any special effects Clark's blood would have otherwise had. It would have made more sense if something would have neutralized the blue-k in Zod, like what Clark's ship did to Lana's necklace in season 2 or how Bizarro did to green kryptonite in Bizarro when he absorbed all its radiation.

Why did Clark save zod and act like he was a friend when zod died?

Because even though they're are enemies, the test of a true hero is to not let anyone die no matter who it is. Heroes believe in second chances.

That just undid what Jor-El did. By exposing the orb with the Kandorian's dna to blue kryptonite Jor - El took away the the Kandorian's ability that they would have u der the yellow sun right? So why would Jor-El tell Clark to save Zod if he didn't want and his people to powers under yellow sun. Was it just because Zod was Jor-El's friend. Furthermore, is this what Jor-El had in mind?

Benjamin Jonathan I think he meant save him from himself bring him back to the light and make him a good person again. I thought it was kinda heart breaking when Zod said you can't save me like he knows what he really is and he knows there is no hope for him to be good

It’s ironic to think a literal single drop of his blood is all it took to heal zod, and activate his powers and overriding the blue kryptonite. Literally one single drop of 🩸
