What is going on around the 12:00 minute mark in this presentation is something that always was a hallmark of Chinese production. The country where it was always easiest to make a variety of product with high output. The fall of Quotas 2005 and Chinese factories who continue to work on very slim margins stifled the industry in most other locations. It is wonderful that Hugo Boss has taken an experimental step into backwards integration - and that it is working out for a high value brand. However, without a clear path to better utilisation, I still see many barriers to this becoming more mainstream.
