Smart Fortwo 451, Air-conditioning Blower System Motor Fan Circuit Explained, Diagnosed, And Fixed

This vehicle came to our garage with Heatin, ventilation and Air-conditioning system heater blower motor fault (heater blower motor was not operating) we diagnosed and fixed the blower motor fan and we also explained the heater blower moter fan circuit too, and recorded these procedures and uploaded here to help some confronts the malfunction of the Air-conditioning system.

Great video, slightly repetitive but very well explained. The 451 in our workshop also has no fan. After checking all the usual suspects, Fan, heater switch module, resistor we also opened WIS to view the wiring diagram. and like you we first tested the 25 amp fuse (No 4) (both terminals positive) then went to the connector X85/10 the pre fan connector to check the red/grey wire and that was negative! We fed that wire a positive signal and the fan sprung into life. So we either have an open circuit between the SAM and this connector or maybe a fault in the SAM itself? I’ll check for open circuit first. I’ll post the diagnosis once fixed.
