GREAT video - it addressed a few concerns I had. I'm still weighing up whether I get a Quest 3 for connecting to a PC or these for Steam Deck use. They do seem pretty great, though I'm not 100% sure if I'd use them that often. I've seen a few folks using it for playing games late at night and not disturbing partners, but the fans from my gen 1 steamdeck, the clacking of the controls and my probable swearing would wake her up :D I could see me using them for watching movies via an ipad though.
@ES-wn4oq5 ай бұрын
I just got the Xreal glasses; they're nice, but these types of glasses are nowhere near VR. VR is a much more amazing experience, and cost LESS than the Xreal glasses. It's ridiculous. It is really nice to have glasses with a screen in front of you for entertainment, gaming or something else. If that's really all you want and need then it could be worth it. But on the whole, to charge more for simply putting a virtual screen in front of your face as opposed to an entire virtual reality experience they just don't compare.
@Warlock_UK5 ай бұрын
@@ES-wn4oq yeah I am thinking of different use cases for the two things. I wouldn’t use VR in bed or sat on a sofa. I wouldn’t use these glasses for working because the screen moves with your head. If anything I’d end up with both, as long as I can justify the use.
@XXIVCONCEPT5 ай бұрын
Haha thank you! Yes totally. I think they’re an awesome upgrade for long flights or even car rides but a bit of a hard pill to swallow if you already have a PC or don’t travel often. If the productivity is what you’re after, I think the Quest may be a better choice.
@XXIVCONCEPT5 ай бұрын
Correct. I made the comparison because most people don’t care that XR and VR are different. They’re going to compare these to VR headsets all the same. I think pricing wise- XR glasses tend to cost more due to how much smaller they are to achieve an albeit, less impressive experience. Both are a niche product in their own right.

@kaczorefx3 ай бұрын
Hi, I hope you can help me. I just got a response from Viture support that when you connect an HDMI source to the glasses via mobile dock or the HDMI XR adapter it supports video ONLY in 1080@30fps. It does not support 24, 25, 50 or 60 fps. I find it extremely weird as playing games in 30fps on such a big screen is basically ... well... unplayable. Can you please check what video formats the glasses can connect to through HDMI?
@XXIVCONCEPT3 ай бұрын
@@kaczorefx Hmm last I checked, the dock didn’t affect or limit my frame rate. You will still get 1080p but you should be able to get up 120hz so long as your device supports it. Finally a review that actually mentions some downsides to the glasses. I think they are great but the pricing still reflects the fact about these AR glasses that they are still early adopter type tech and there is still much room for improvement but if you can shell out the money there is some enjoyment to derive from them. For me personally i think i will keep watching how they progress. Maybe when they use wave guides lens(which will reduce their size and have them sit more closer to and naturally on the face which will probably eliminate some of the issues like inner reflections) , are wireless and all you need is the glasses and the app on your phone i will give them a try.

Im between the viture proxr or the xreal air with the beam pro bother end out being just under $500
@ApfelSgt2 ай бұрын
Buy the viture! First of all, the most important thing on Ar glasses is the display! And the Viture has a way better display than the xreal air 2 pro! Less blurry image, and a way brighter and clearer image overall! The viture has 4000nits where 1000nits brightness are perceived and the xreal only up to 500! That’s a huge difference! How the ultra are idk… didn’t tested them! 🤷🏽 but they are expensive as hell! Also they’re made of aluminium while the xreal are plastic! And Spacewalker is the most advanced software for xr glasses! With the Xreal you NEED to have the Beam or Beam pro for 3dof! With the Viture, you only need your smartphone or your mac/ laptop whatsoever and could use 3dof on any of that devices! That alone is a huge Plus for the viture in my opinion! Also the chromatic film on the viture turns them nearly into complete darkness! The xreals doesn’t get nearly as dark, which is also a huge difference! And just alone because of the Image Clarity, i would definitely take the viture pro xr! The Xreal, even the air 2 pro are i would say „mid“, while the viture has the best display! I would say overall the Viture Pro Xr are the overall best xr glasses out today! 😌👌🏼

@sashogs5 ай бұрын
The 3dof just makes it a hard sell for me, I want to use them as an external monitor for my laptop because if my neck strains but the screen being pinned at a specific distance to my face makes it hard to fork out the money especially when I’m taking a hit on image quality when compared to my m2 air. But I do like the ultra wide option you can apparently get from the spacewalker albeit still through the 1080p lens. Regardless I’m on the fence and waiting to see more reviews maybe. A lot reviews and demos show it as though it’s pinned screen in space where is its pinned to the face with 3dof for pitch/yaw/roll.
@XXIVCONCEPT5 ай бұрын
@@sashogs Within Spacewalker you’re able to choose how the displays react to head movement. You can pin them not only in 3D space but also pitch and roll independently. You can also make it so they don’t get pinned at all and follow your head completely.

So..do you not need the mobile dongle if your phone supports video out? I have a 15pro max…I would definitely be interested in using spatial video and 3dof

@@jamesmaltese You do not. The dongle is only for the added features like the 3D DoF and Apple Spacial video. If you have an iPhone 15 you can plug directly in.
@XXIVCONCEPT5 ай бұрын
To clarify- you DO need the dongle for Spacial Video and 3D* but not to just use the glasses as the iPhone 15 supports video out. Even if you plugged in a dongle into a phone that didn’t, they still wouldn’t output a signal. To use the glasses period, your phone has to support video out.

@XXIVCONCEPT5 ай бұрын
You would think that, but that's why I made the comparison to the OLED Steamdeck and Switch. The Viture Pros are marketed strongly to mobile gamers who use handhelds. When the glasses themselves cost AS MUCH as the handhelds they expect you to use them with, it gets hard to justify buying them. Most people dont need these in their gaming setup. That's my take given I'm the target audience for these. Price for a lot of people helps shape their perceived value. It could be the greatest accessory or screen, but if it costs as much as the main device, it starts to lose value. If these were half that price, they'd be viewed more as an accessory, which is how they're marketed. Because one their own, they don't do a lot. They don't do anything actually. So you have to already have a device to make them work which thus proves these are technically an accessory, but they're priced MORE than the gaming devices they're suggested to be used with. And that's the angle I reviewed them from. Hence the title. Could you re-evaluate these from a productivity standpoint? Sure. The value changes then. But I personally didn't use them that way so I didn't review them as such.
@SH-71255 ай бұрын
@@XXIVCONCEPT Keep in mind that those gaming devices can have a lower price but make it up with their software sales. Steam Deck is at the low price it's at because it can make up for the sales it gets for software in the Steam Store. Same with Nintendo... Viture only makes sales off of hardware....and these glasses are priced similarly to other glasses of it's type. So, it's within the price range. Also, it uses Sony Micro OLEDs. Those aren't cheap either. According to Alibaba, it could range from $180-$285+ per piece depending on how many pieces you buy....what model you get (latest 0.55" or previous 0.68") (They may have gotten a better deal...idk...but expect similar prices since it's Sony) And of course you have to add cost for warranty, customer support, etc... These glasses and other glasses of it's type.....are currently the most affordable ways to enjoy display on your face. You can of course get older models from Viture or other competitors for cheaper....if you don't care for a lot of features or some of the improvements.
