love it! great how you explain the redstone in detail. You can btw place the subtraction comperator directly into the side of the reading comparator, no redstone dust needed.

In case this helps someone else: was pulling my hair out why the loader part was not releasing the cart (Bedrock v1.18.12)... the detector rail was not detecting the presence of the cart when parked on the slope. Eventually I used a chunk viewer add-on, which revealed the loader happened to be spanning a chunk border, right between the detector rail and the sloped powered rail. I moved the entire loader over *a single block* and then it worked perfectly.

AnimusJ, thanks for your tutorials. They are technically precise and I especially appreciate that you don't speed through them at a pace that is too fast to follow. I use this loader/unloader design in my kelp farm as a switch between a minecart collection system and a minecart distribution system to the furnaces, and I was frustrated by the limitation on how fast the hopper pulls from the chest on the loading side. So I made the chest into a double chest with one half off to the side, then placed another hopper beneath it pulling from the chest and pointing into the hopper that loads the minecart. This doubles the speed at which the hopper reloads after the distribution minecart leaves.

I know this was posted a while ago but wow this is exactly what I was looking for and works great. I added a few double chests. I'm mining out a huge area underground and sending it all to a storage system above ground. What I had built couldn't keep up because the minecart wasn't filling before leaving.

Sir, this must be the simplest most customizable cart loading/unloading setup there is. Thank you for this! It blew my mind when both the custom max setting AND the empty hopper check worked together. I was hoping to have a cart loader that would take off when half full or when nothing was left to load, and here it is. Great job

Wouldn't your redstone lamps need to be next to the main redstone line rather 1 block/dust away? I havnt tested it but I think that might mess up the results slightly.

Question: At the loading side, the chest/hopper with the compareter, doesn't the distance between that compareter going into the side of the activater compareter effect the signal strength thereby effecting when the cart will take off? Wouldn't you have to add one stack of items for every space in that distance to account for the signal strength degrading?

Bro I did a diagonal think like that. When I did it on 1.16 the minecarts hitbox actually always stays collided with the redstone block. And on 3 ticks it blips both at the piston....

If you are going to be putting multiple types of items in these i would recommend leaving one stack out of whatever you're using (hopper or chest). I put coal in my smelting system and then had bamboo running into it and the minecart wouldn't leave because it had half a stack of coal left.

Anybody having the issue of one of the station's not working unless you're nearby? My unloader works fine but my loader down in my mineshaft doesn't do anything until I'm close to it assuming withing 5-25 blocks

Is it possible if I want to unload from the minecart only one specific type of item and send it on the away to the next stop? (combining minecart unloader and item sorter)

Yeah you can do that but it’ll take a bit of work. You’d need an item filter underneath the place it stops that detects when no more items are moving and sends the cart on

it's not a matter if it works in java, it's something does come from java and doesn't work properly on bedrock edition, hence the system fails if you put it 1 block away xD

Java users have confirmed it works - that’s more in regards to redstone timing on Bedrock being so weird 😂 and yeah, Bedrock math and weirdness makes it need a block away sometime 🙄

I built mine so that it would automatically go when full, or when a button gets pressed by using an XOR gate. If you want I can show you.

Your measurement of power is incorrect because you need a lamp on every spot of redstone dust on the line and you have them only on every other spot. In order to be able to do this you would have to use repeaters on every other lamp so the circuit will not connect all the lamps together. SMELTERS - For a smelter you really do not need a fancy system. I just use a hopper minecart that continuously goes back and forth across the furnace fuel hoppers and it picks up enough fuel items (what ever they are) from a single hopper with a chest on it before it leaves (1/10 sec) to make another run. I have a 10 furnace smelter which cooks 2 or 3 items per second which is fast enough for me. Special trick --> Put a dirt block in 3 or 4 of the slots of all the furnace fuel hoppers so those slots will not have to fill up with 64 fuel items which might cause the last furnaces to get starved for fuel. The dirt is NOT fuel and will not go into the furnaces but stays in the hoppers. That way each furnace get fuel fast and the fuel is distributed more evenly.
