I had to add a detector rail and 2 additional Redstone torches below the original one. When the mine cart goes over the detector rail it will turn off the powered rail just long enough to get the cart to start unloading instead of it relaunching a full cart.

For those who may think this does not work in Bedrock 1.19, you need to make sure the minecart is going slower. Once I removed a powered rail, it was able to drop an item off before leaving the rail. It was too fast beforez

I found the fix for all the issues everyone is having, drop the last 2 blocks down, place another hopper going into the original with a powered rail on that, this fixed the not stopping and going through blocks issues

Doesn't work if the hopper goes to another hopper because it empties too fast to register on the comparator.

@@JulianSloman I just feed that first hopper into a single chest then put hopper stack under that chest feeding into double chests. Works perfectly.

It does work if you put only 2 power rails in the end and the start and make it 10 blocks long.

I spent so much time on hypixel skyblock so I could get my cactus farm to travel to the storage section, turns out it was wasted because minecarts arent allowed. Great tutorial though!

What about if you wanted it to go the other way. Say the you have an INPUT chest above, with either a hopper minecart or a hopper beneath feeding into a minecart with chest. How to you get the minecart to stop and fill up until either it is full OR the chest it's withdrawing from is empty?

If you have the problem that the items don't fall inside the hopper, ensure that 1) the hopper is facing the chest; place it "on" the chest and 2) there is no redstone cube just besides the hopper.

my minecart hopper never stops on the hopper ever with multiple stacks of items in it, if i manually drop stacks of items on the hopper it turns off ... I am so confused

very simple system, it works well. also, a word of warning. Don't put a second hopper underneath the first one. it pulls the items out as soon as they come in, so the powered rail always stays on.

For anyone with the problem of the minecart leaving as soon as it gets to the station, here's what I was messing up: The powered rails touching the block the minecart runs into SHOULD NOT be powered on when the mine cart is not there. Meaning NO RED STONE TORCHES activating them. I had my beginning powered rails activated with a torch so that's why the cart never fully stopped.

​@@bababab-rad Make sure the beginning rails are not powered. So do not put redstone around them. The block that the minecart stops at should have an UNPOWERED powered rail next to it. The rail will automatically power when the cart gets to the block. So just make sure there is no redstone torches or blocks powering that first rail. Just remove them.

So everything works. Dumps all the items in, repeaters go on when it empties to signal the railing to go back and yeah. However the issue is that my minecart after emptying everything just sits there. For some reason, it still thinks it needs to go in that direction I guess of the wall? Basically it won’t return without a push and it’s frustrating idk how to work it

Same issue. I did a loop and it won't start after it's empty. I think this only works if the minecart ends against a wall.

I can confirm. I just removed the loop and made it end at a block on both ends and it works well that way.

How far away does it work? Would it go 2 or 300 blocks? Do you have to be near it to start the unloading?

I imagine as far as your render distance. So whatever you have your chunk render distance set to.

Probably because the track on top of the hopper is being powered by the rest of the track. There needs to be a break.

I have a problem. The redstone isnt quick enough and what i mean by that is that the comparator turns off the redstone torch to slowly and the minecart leaves before it turns off

I didn’t find a great solution, but one that kind of works. I added about 4 unpowered activator rails leading up to the powered rail. This slowed my mine cart down just enough for it to unload properly every one in ten laps or so. I have an iron farm, so honestly I’m considering just taking the minecart hopper system out and using a bunch of hoppers instead.

The hopper under the powered rail has to output on side, not straight down. Also don't pull items with other hopper from it, empty it in a single chest then pull items from that chest to your storage, etc. Use also 2 powered rails, not one.

NOTE: If you have a hopper under the hopper that has the minecart on it, the system will NOT WORK. Make sure that their is no hopper under the hopper with the minecart because the comparator will send a Redstone signal to that one as well. (I think that's what it does)

On normal rails you need to push. If powered rails they need redstone that is active.

It has been verified to work too many times to count. The most common problem people have is they don't put an UNPOWERED rail between the powered rail on top of the hopper and the rest of the line.
