Smart Phone Macro DIY

Take that old broken point and shoot camera and make it
useful again. How? Shred it for fun and dig the lenses out
and make a macro lens set for your smartphone.
This video was shot with a GoPro Hero4 Session and a GoPro Hero4 Silver.

You are a genius. I have a broken camera similar to yours. Hubby has a job to do tomorrow. Take camera apart, cut cardboard, assemble, give to wife. I love it !!!!!

Use an elastic of an old pantyhose with two turns to hold the cardboard. I made the same with the lens of a CD reader, it goes into the microscopic.

Even better thing to do: if the camera still works, disassemble it down to the sensor, remove the IR-cutoff filter from the sensor and replace it with an IR-pass filter. Assemble it back together and if it still works, you've got an instant infrared camera! You can find lots of tutorials for this, just search "IR camera mod" or something like that.
