couple of things that I see that need to be addressed in their next model: 1 need to add a horizontal stabilizer to the front fork. 2. need to unify recharging into a single port (not having 2 separate independent charging ports for the handlebars). 3. 420mm wide handlebars are going to be too wide for most female or smaller stature riders. 4. Need to add a variable crank arm length.

Need to add in a chain protector. Function over form! Some other fun things they could do is put in an LED light underneath that matches your zones.Coz...it's a game! Could actually put in some dyson like fans into the frame so you don't even need external fans. Doesn't need a 'key'...just handles on each adjustment point. Should be a protection screen above the handlebar platform so you can touch underneath from the sides but it stops sweat falling onto these devices. Heck make it an additional cost add on but that'd be beneficial for many. Why not have the bottle holder neat the platform so it's easier to access.

I think Zwift is missing an opportunity here by delaying the launch of the frame-only version until later in (Northern Hemisphere) autumn. Existing smart trainer owners, such as myself, would be more likely to want an indoor specific bike for the times we can't go out during the summer (short ride over lunch, too hot, too stormy, etc.).

Agree. I’d buy the frame only version now if it were available. The only question I have is if it’ll work with my kickr core that has a regular cassette in the back. I’m wondering if they ship the frame only version with the Zwift cog to replace a regular cassette. I’m sure you could just pick a straight chain line and go, but the cog seems like a better way to go.

@@dustinqualls4815 I have my doubts about that. If you look at the drive-side chainstay on the Ride, it doesn't appear to have the right clearance for much beyond what the Zwift Cog and the chain tensioner on the Zwift Ride require.

A chain is obviously problematic because of the dirt and west and noise. However they were limited by needing to keep the frame compatible with existing trainers I suspect, as well as engineering down to an affordable price point. Zwift hardware isn’t the best - it’s the cheapest and most idiot proof.

It’s mainly designed to work with Zwift. If you use ROUVY, it will only work in Erg mode. If you ride in sim mode in ROUVY, you won’t have gears to adjust resistance. Hope that helps.

I would buy it right away if it had a magnetic resistance and V-belt. I am afraid it still makes to much noise riding it next tot the room where my 3 years old son sleeps. Bit of a mistake not making it Kickr climb compatible especially as it's integrated with the Kickr trainer ecosystem. The front foot could do with a shoe of some kind to spread the load a bit. As it is it'll sink into any mat inc the Kickr mat. That, and as Ray has mentioned using buttons instead of shifters is a bit naff. As a v1 attempt it's not bad. Needs work.

Im a little late but anyways… I already have the zwift hub trainer. Should i wait for just the frame to be released or would it be worth getting the full package and moving from the zwift trainer to the wahoo kicker core? I found the zwift hub to be lacking for me, then again theres a good chance its my actual bike frame because the gears and chain are effed and i never got good readings. Could also be my bluetooth connection to my apple tv. I would spring but on zwift it would be like i was going nowhere. It actually turned me off of zwift and iv been looking at full smart bikes instead.

So, what's the advantage of this, other than the convenience of a turnkey solution and the ephemeral "coolness" factor, over buying a Core + Play controllers for $600 (or $500 with the new Jetblack trainer) and installing either an older bike that you don't ride much anymore, or a cheap used bike that will be dedicated to this, on it? With the latter you not only save a decent amount of money but get to use a Climb and Sterzo, use the crank length of your choice and your preferred saddle and handlebars, be able to ride on other platforms that currently don't support virtual shifting, and have an additional bike in case you need one, say if your main bike is broken or a friend visits you and you want to go on a ride together. Is this another "mostly for dentists" product?

@@luismalowitz4343 Yes, saw that. It proves you can install similar drop bars (somebody at Zwift claimed you can't do it but obviously they are wrong or don't want to deal with it). Installing flat mountain bars is a slightly different wrinkle...don't see why it wouldn't fit in the stem clamp but the play controllers wouldn't easily fit/attach to a flat bar but seems like a Zwift Click could be used.

At the moment I am happy with mine I just bought the frame which comes with the ride cog but this has no hub cassette hub so be WARNED what you get replaces the cassette on your trainer it just slips on like a cassette after you remove trainer cassette. WARNING !! The other thing is If you have short legs you will not fit this frame, shortest leg length is around 27 inches / 69 cm you cannot lower the seat further. I just fit lucky enough. It says 5 feet sizing but it is more important to have leg length, I did have a problem with fitting the handlebars into their slots and have to do some filing of the metal to make it fit so I hope this was just a one off. Now it all fits and it is really comfortable the seat is nice one I think and the frame is solid also smooth to pedal I think it is worth having it is much better than using my bike it is too pricey I think but on the other hand it seems to work.

No it does not. You will have to use your own device to run Zwift. Zwift is can run on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Android. Any of these options will run Zwift and pair to the bike.

Well spotted, I was wondering about the point load of the "rod" to the floor hadn't even thought of the climb! They could have made some ugly cranks with the option to change crank lengths too, that will be a big turn off for many being fixed to 170mm

This would be great if it worked with everything, that's a huge mistake. I don't want to be locked to Zwift which is getting way too expensive anyway. Also 100 euros for shipping is insane.

It's pretty heavy. The frame alone is like 18kg + add the weight of the Kickr Core

The Wattbike is 40kg and that is in a single unit. Easier to move two units than a heavier one.
