In this video I'm replacing all our heating controls with a new Heatmiser system including new theromostats, actuators and wiring centre.

Thanks for making this video. Having just bought a house with the same Heatmiser UFH already installed it was really helpful for me to get an overview of how it all fits together as a system.

A very meaningful video. I agree that the Thermostat report higher temp than the actual temp if the room

Its almost a setup I need, unfortunately my current thermostats are wall mounted and dont have a backbox thus the only option would be the google nest thermostats which mount on the walls.

Thanks for the video. I have 8 zone underfloor heating, currently running off a combi gas boiler and a timer + dumb stats. Want to update and as far as I can tell Heitmeiser and Evohome are really the only 2 that offer room by room control and modulation via opentherm (which the boiler supports). Any particular reason why you went with Heitmeiser? Any others you considered?

Love you videos, very professional and useful. I am running ufh at ground floor and traditional radiators on the first floor, I have hive control heating but can't control ufh separately with first floor radiators, if I only want on in one of the bedroom, I have to heat ground floor, what would you recommend? Thanks

Hi Adam, great vid. Did you ever get around to recalibrating the thermostats so they read a more accurate room temp?

I noticed the Flow Meters are on the Hot Flow of the Manifolds and the Actuators on the Return Manifolds. Is that the correct way for the flows ? I thought it’s should be the other way, but my Uponor UFH manifolds are the same as yours and I don’t think the flow meters measure properly.

Can I use this exact same product on radiators or there are some artificial limitation, eg. temperature limit? I understand wiring is a challenge because radiators are far apart but I solved this problem.

Thank you so much for doing this and sharing. I'm just about ready to rip out my PolyPlumb 8 zone system and replace it. I want wireless access and control so the Heatmiser system look's interesting. Its not clear in my old documentation if my current actuators are 24v or 240v. Such a waste if I have to replace them all. Having done this a year ago is there anything that you have learnt in this time worth passing on? Loved this bit where your lad came barging in and you kept filming. Well done.

I would like to install actuators and wiring centre to my manifold, can I control each zone separately so that I have different temperature? I have 5 zones but the first 2 zones are in a colder area of the house. I have one thermostat, it's open plan ground floor, 70 sq metres.

Thanks for the video, would be interesting to see how neoUltra Central Control centre works/interface etc? Doesn't seem to be many user videos on them online and it would be interesting to hear how useful the unit was vs the additional price...

I've never used it to do anything. It's much easier just to get your phone out if you do need to change things. Not worth the money in my opinion. Maybe I'll do a little video about it though!

Great video. I am looking at updating my own system to the same Heatmiser equipment. When you was wiring up the stat you looped between the live and A1. Why did you do that and do you have to do the same in the UH8?
@AdamCookeTV
@AdamCookeTV 2 жыл бұрын
When there's a demand for heat the thermostat will connect the A1 and A2 connections together. At the wiring centre, it expects the switched live to be at 230V so we're just sending the permanant 230V back to the wiring centre.

Really interesting video! I'd be interested to know more about your heat-pump system, how it was to install (assuming you had it retrofitted) and how it performs.
@AdamCookeTV
@AdamCookeTV 2 жыл бұрын
Our heat pump was installed when the house was built so it performs pretty well because we've got good insulation and underfloor heating everywhere which works well with the lower output temps from the heat pump (about 35c)

@@AdamCookeTV Are the heatmiser actuators compatible with most manifolds? If not what manifold are you using? I also noticed you didn't have a pump at your manifold, why is this? Thanks for the video, really insightful!

Have you got a radiator plumbed into this system that is always open? Just wondering how you have protected the boiler etc from pump overrun or the actuator failing when calling for heat.
@AdamCookeTV
@AdamCookeTV Жыл бұрын
This is connected to a heat pump which has its own internal pump for this. It doesn't do any overrun that I've noticed. The water going around this loop is only about 35ºc so it's not a huge problem for it if the water just goes around the loop back to itself. It presumably has some internal protections which monitor in and out water tempertures and shuts off the pump if needed too

Hi Adam I have a Polypipe manifold and actuator heads yet to be installed, if I go for this heatmiser system would I have to change to heatmiser actuator heads . You didn’t seem that impressed by this system would you have preferred the nest apart from the added cost of the heat links
@AdamCookeTV
@AdamCookeTV 2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to change the heads if they're 230V. I had to change mine because the ones we had before were only 24V. The system has been in for over 8 months now and it does its job fine. The main reason I didn't go with Nest here is that I can't trivially integrate it with my Home Assistant system. If you're not worried about that and cost isn't an option then something like Nest or Tado have nicer apps than Heatmiser in my opinion. I have actually used Nest with this system in a couple of zones because I had two of them lying around from our last house. It's easy to just connect the Heat Link up to the Heatmiser wiring centre instead of the theromstat in each room.
