does my duct need to be free of any paint to apply this? I had waterproofing paint on the roof and added some to the duct itself.

Am really not sure about its durability. This foil layer is very similar to the one which is already on the insulation. We are currently using the 0.8mm and 0.6mm rigid aluminum for jacketing and switching to this one I think needs more thinking

I'd use no clad it's a kevlar sticky back for this application to protect duct but if it's rusted out replace section of duct this is pointless must be internal insulation

WOuldnt you want to add insulation to duct first.
