I love steaming my hay. I get a free spa treatment a few times a day and it smells SO good.

I just commented on a much older video about feeding horses before / after workouts but my mare is currently in a group turn out with free fed alfalfa. Now, 😂 she is getting very fat because I don't have time to work her. I am looking into making her a lesson horse so she gets exercise but also making time for me to exercise her myself. For now, I was thinking maybe I should move her to a stall (with run) to control how much she eats and to monter it. I have always been worrying that she is not drinking enough water (will start feeding electrolytes when I start supplementing her) so I've been giving her the chance to drink when I bring her in from the paddock but also do you think soaking her hay would help? I really don't want to be to much trouble for my barn manager but I could ask her to turn my horse out for a couple hours every day. Should I keep my fleshy mare on group turn out with free fed alfalfa or move her to a stall with a run and couple hour turn out every day to give her a controlled amount of soaked hay? @smartpak

I have to start soaking my horse’s hay to help with equine metabolic syndrome. After soaking should I hang the net for a few minutes to let the excess water drip out or should I feed immediately?
