My Pixel 6a flickered really crazy, It sometimes even felt like the screen was running at 30 or even just 10 Hz at the lowest brightness in a complete darkness. The flicker was noticeable while shaking the phone and paying attention only to the display. For the ambient display, once the only red pixels turn on, the flicker is just noticeable with a bare eye. I know the a-series is supposed to be a mid-range and more budget friendly, but Google could do better with the OLED panel.

Wow... Love the visual comparison. I have one suggestion for future updates on this pwm update each year. Create 5 brightness levels testing and level them on the video screen: 95%, 75% 50% 25% 10%. This makes it so easy to compare.

Well the blue light issue can be addressed with screen filter apps, or if that doesn't work, you can get a pair of glasses with the special FL-41 coating. This will filter out the wavelengths of blue light that have been found to be harsh to the eyes. Theraspecs makes nice FL-41 prescription lenses. They do look a bit pink though, so you might not want to wear them at all times.

You are living in 20th century? LED lights work on constant current they do not flicker. Are you still using Halogen/Incandescent light bulb ?

The dimmable LED use PWM, too! And defect LED bulbs wit their own voltage converter are flickering, too!

But the iPhone uses a 120 Hz refresh rate and the LEDs have a PWM of the multiple of the electrical current of 50 Hz
