Unreal Engine 5.3 Has been officially released, featuring a lot of new updates. There is now support for editing skeletal meshes and creating skeletal meshes within the editor - enabling users to rig their own characters. In addition there have been many updates to the virtual production side of the engine.

That's exactly my thought! Like how is this only One company among all; that is constantly pushing all this state of the art features every few months? Like just consider Nanite itself; no longer being limited by polygones? That is a big fucking deal. And only One game engine has figured it out. You can't compete with that with smart LOD placement and deceiving textures. Rockstar could make the most detailed & beautifully created open world ever in GTA VI; and it will be outcompeted in a second with a click in UE; in terms of world looking realistic & detailed. That seems so weird to me. Imagine if only one game/creativity engine could use ray tracing.

Does anyone think we will ever see another Unreal and or Unreal Tournament game? Or is it just an engine now?

Epic doesnt want to make it because they get their money from Fortnite, which they dumb downed for younger kids. They dont want to make a game like UT in this age. But the community remade it.

I tried Fortnite and couldn't get into it. I guess one day there will be a community version then. Epic released that UT4 tech demo ages ago but it never went beyond that. @@kenalpha3
