Great video!! Are we able to turn a red driveway black/grey by just adding colouring with the sealant or is there more to it when changing colours? Thank you
@SmartsealUk Жыл бұрын
Hi Josh, this can be achieved in some instances , but it is best to take advice specific to your driveway before proceeding- if you send some pictures here - www.smartseal.co.uk/help-advice/send-us-your-pictures.htm we can advise further. Hope that helps, Josh@Smartseal

Given me some confidence to try it. How long does it take to dry? If it rains what happens?
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
You should apply when there is no rain forecast for at least 4 hours Arthur. Regards, Josh@Smartseal

hi Nigel I was toldto put a thin layer of thinners on my drive first letit dry then seal it is this correct, as mine looks like your black/grey drive you showed us and I'm is the same colour best wishes Colin
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
Hello Colin, thanks for watching the video. Personally I would only apply a layer of 'thinners' prior to applying new sealer, if I was concerned about some kind of issue with the appearance of the surface or previously applied sealer. If you require specific advice, feel free to send us some pictures www.smartseal.co.uk/help-advice/send-us-your-pictures.htm Hope that helps, Regards, Nigel Blake Smartseal UK Ltd

Hi, is it normal for rainwater to bead after the sealer is applied?
@SmartsealUk3 жыл бұрын
It will bead for a while Shaf, but this will reduce relatively quickly, and will not be an issue over time. Regards, George@Smartseal

I find the sealer tint harder to use in warmer conditions as it sometimes stops the sealer gassing out with being slightly thicker and sometimes leaves little bubbles in the deeper part of the imprint where the sealer settles, what’s your feedback on this please if any ? TIA
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
Hello Martin, thanks for your comment. Certainly I agree, the colour should always be used sparingly and can thicken the sealer, particuarly in warmer temperatures. The bubbles are a result of excess sealer, sitting in the joints in higher temperatures. Always try and remove the excess with a broom and avoid working in direct sunlight if the weather is quite warm. Hope that helps, Nigel@Smartseal

Can the final coat be mat. Or does it need to be Satin?
@SmartsealUk3 ай бұрын
The final coat can be Matt Dawn. The Silk would give a greater lifespan (because it contains a higher % of resin) and would dull down over time. Hope that helps. Joshua@Smartseal

My chaps laid and imprinted the drive last week. They are due to attend to seal, is it a full day job and how many coats should they do? Its similar size to that slate drive.

I have bought a colour enhancer for my brick driveway. I have done the edge of grey bricks but am not happy with the result. I wish I'd seen your product first! Would you advise using your product on top of it or will I need to jet wash it first?
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
Hello Margaret, to give an opinion and provide advice, we would require more information about the product applied and ideally some pictures. Please make an enquiry via this link- www.smartseal.co.uk/help-advice/send-us-your-pictures.htm Regards, Nigel@Smartseal

I’m Looking at a dark grey colour to match the exterior paintwork on the house any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ive just watched your short videos, very helpful thank you. My concrete imprint is about 4 years old. Its a grey slate colour with black edging. I want to reseal it this week. Please could you post a link to the sealer ill need. Its about 60 square meters... Id like a nice shiny affect sealer. Thanks in advance

Also, how often should the rubber be replaced
@SmartsealUk5 жыл бұрын
Hello Martin, this would be the product I would recommend. www.smartseal.co.uk/sealers/imprinted-concrete-sealer/imprinted-concrete-sealer-gloss-finish.htm 1 x 25 litres SILK sealer- this should be enough for two coats to 60m2. After four years, with average wear and tear, I would suggest two coats is about right, if you have a little bit left over, give the hardest wearing areas a third coat. Hope that helps, Nigel@Smartseal
@SmartsealUk5 жыл бұрын
@Matt Westby Hi Matt, thanks for getting in touch. Personally, I would always recommend the SILK/Wet look for resealing, unless colour is a necessity. The gloss sealer is quite thick and should only be applied sparingly as a 'one coat ' product. Bubbles on the surface would have been caused by a little bit of over application. Hope that helps, Nigel@Smartseal

Would it also be possible to use imprinted concrete sealer on Indian sandstone if not why not please ?
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
It is possible, but not advisable Mike. This is due to the porosity of indian sandstone which can make it sensitive to solvent based acrylic sealers. We do have a range of products specifically formulated for natural stone on our website. Hope that helps. George@Smartseal

Is there not anti slip in the sealant as standard?
@SmartsealUk2 жыл бұрын
Hello E, Gold, thanks for your question. No, the anti slip additive should only be added to the final coat, it would not have any benefit in initial applications of sealer. Hope that helps, Josh@Smartseal

it,s been 2 years but want to reseal again to hide the areas that have gone light such as around the bin areas and around the side door area . The dark grey alot lighter in these areas
@SmartsealUk2 ай бұрын
Hello Rachel, Yes, you can, but a broom is better. It enables you to remove the excess sealer that settles in the joints more effectively. Also if you are combining the sealer with a anti slip additive or colour tint, consistent mixing with the broom in the drum, keeps these additives suspended in the sealer. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal

cant it be spray applied
@SmartsealUk6 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your question. It can be, broom is recommended as it enables excess to be swept out of joints and not wasted. Also if anti slip or any colour is used, this will clog up the sprayer. Hope that helps.
