One of TED Talk titled can school kill the creativity, that hit me hard, with revealing truth, which is still unscientific and unreal because if the trouble face in real life, that will completely different. On this cause, Academic education still untouched by academicians. Hey there! There is only place you should put the abstract and that's the page directly after the title page. It will always be the second page in your document

No, technically no student papers (eassys or research paper) require an abstract anymore under APA 7th edition. The only time you need an abstract is when you’re professors ask for one. Or if you’re writing a professional paper that you’re getting published. Hope this helps clear things up for you!

I would never show this video to my class. They say that APA says they are no longer required and some [out of touch, outdated, uninformed] teachers still require it. Abstracts are required and standard in REAL research. I want my students to write like adult real writers--not college students. Telling writers that they are students so they don't have to write like writers who get published is pretty condescending. Either way, why in the world would you start a video undermining the importance to the task you are about to teach.

APA 7th edition no longer requires abstracts for student papers. They are still required for professional papers. That's great that you want your students to write like REAL writers but is it too far of a stretch to believe that some students (most if you will) are... just interested in being college students? They did not set out to be professional writers? That they are in fact college students who are more concerned with the concentration of their degree which for many is NOT professional writing. This video was made as a curtesy - because as you stated abstracts are no longer required but some teachers still call for it. It was made for those students who have no idea how to write one because people are no longer teaching them yet some professors will still ask for them. I can send you the updated APA manual if you'd like. I didn't write it but I help teach it. Next time you disagree with their standards, please email them.
