The thing with Julieta's gift is, that it requieres a lot of work to cook all that food. I wouldn't wanna cook all day for the rest of my life. Isabela's power however is both useful and also really fun to use! so I would want to have that one! But from the community perspektive Julieta's gift is absolutly the best.

It also depends on how little you have to do in order to have "cooked" it. If your pickling can you just throw a few barrels of prepared spices into the brine and have everyone else do the rest? Can you cut a bunch of carrots and have each slice work? Can you make a massive sheet of hardtack and dole out the tinniest shards you can cut?

I heard this theory from someone that each power seems designed for a large scale combat/war scinerio. And given how each power either helps gather intel *or* is just powerful in it's own right, as well as that the whole reason the candle even exists is because of the stuff that spawned from the thousand day war, it's not a bad idea. It also helps to explain the more random powers, like the emotional weather control (the distress can create dangerous weather conditions as a defense mechanism) and the super hearing.

Bruno, Julieta and Luisa has the best gifts. Sure Bruno was hated in the village but his powers are useful for a bit of insight in the future and help alot of people form dying and such. Sure shape-shifting and talking to animal is helpful but not that much compared to Julieta or Bruno. Dolores and Pepa's powers are awful, they seem like curses instead of blessings honestly. Pepa have to keep your emotions in check to make sure you don't cause a tornado or hurricane. And Dolores would irl be mad from all the noises she hears. Isabella can grow plants with next to healing is like second best for me because Isabella she can grow food for people which is necessary for people like water and oxygen.

I liked Isabella’s power the best because you can make fruits and vegetables,anything really plant related at will, without needing to cook a bunch of food, sure you might need to cook a bit but unlike Juleta you won’t need to make everything from scratch and I think Isabella’s power could help her with cooking for the community and for the family cuz she can make fresh crops for Juleta’s cooking

Shape-shifting could be put to either good or bad use, depending on the person, if they decided to transform into a person they liked just to check out the body, that would be putting it to bad use but if they transformed into like a person who you missed so you could say goodbye or something, could be put to good use

Since Mirabel in "The Family Madrigal" implies that the blessings grow, pretty much means their gifts are getting stronger so while for example, Luisa was always strong, she probably got even stronger over time and not just because she was also working out (though having extra muscles also helped a lot, especially with giving her some confidence before she had a breakdown in a movie) so perhaps while Dolores got the super hearing from the start, it was more or less "location hearing" meaning she could hear various sounds but it doesn't mean the already normal range sounds would instantly become noisier or that the first time she got her gift it was a disaster (I hate the assumption that getting her gift was like a flick of the switch) and perhaps she started to recognize more sounds and over time had a bigger hearing range but still she probably didn't struggle with it as much as she did in the movie when magic was fading. Probably the first time she got her gift she started to recognize new sounds but each by each until they started to slowly blend so Dolores at least atoned herself. I mean sure, from time to time she may have some troubles with adjusting but it wouldn't be this bad, Dolores hears lots of sounds but she doesn't LISTEN to all of them. After 16 years while being a gossip, she would learn to mind her business and it seems she needs to concentrate to hear proper sounds which is why she usually is in a pose of listening to something because she needs to focus on which sound she wants to listen to. She also probably doesn't like fireworks because those are loud anyway and probably even some normal people don't like them (I don't for example) and it may also be because they're sudden. While sure those who probably have sensory overload can relate to her but Dolores is way too functional even during the movie to be like "I cry myself to sleep" so she probably is fine for the most part, but it got harder for her during Casita's breaking since magic is not working well and probably by that time the noise became unbearable and an actual noise, which also may allude to the fact that when a family is entering a crisis (Casita was breaking because the family was breaking and magic was fading because love was becoming conditional in Madrigals) those who listen to the "arguments" but don't act upon them wants to not listen to them because they're afraid they're going to end up so badly and would prefer to not hear it at all instead of hearing it but doing nothing about it because they can't.

Healing is WAY up there. Curing broken bones in one bite is INSANE like it or not. Easily the top spot. In terms of reverence, she's the new Virgin Mary. SHAPESHIFTING is also really up there. Super underrated. Espionage, political sabotage etc. In many ways illusion is the ULTIMATE weapon. You wouldn't want Mystique hunting you down. You'd never sleep again. Isabella with the plants again is REALLY up there. Judging by the speed she grows them, she could probably politically terraform large swaths of the earth making her the most world-savvy. Imagine bringing down the price of produce to pennies on the dollar WORLDWIDE. Imagine regrowing the Sahara, regrowing the outback, Iceland, Greenland, north Russia. She's a star if she wants it. Bruno's foresight is great if you have the strength to take it and/or strategize with it. Strength is fine. Hearing is for political edge. But is a double-edged sword. Weather...well Pepa needs practice and judging by her age, if she doesn't care to now she never will, so moot point. Animals are great, except they've most likely have a bone to pick down the line. The best buddy could do is breakaway from most people like Steve Irwin lest he become guilty by association. That or team up with Isabella.... Say her name and the crowd goes wild... Isabella.... She's the perfect golden child....

Shape shifting can actually be helpful for the community. There are lots of people with lots of different traits in the Encanto. So Camilo can basically be everyone at once, combining their traits to help. Like he did when Casita was falling apart.

The worst and the best: Worst : Hearing (Dolores) : This ability is really horrible, Dolores cannot even speak loudly, she can't focus, can't think. In the song "Turn it down" (Not in the show so not canon but it deserves to be mentioned) Dolores says that everything is was too loud for her and she is suffering also she might hear something she doesn't want to hear as you said and she can't even stop the power Best : Healing (Julieta) : Okay her power is the best, she can heal people when they are hurt, and if their hurt AND hungry, Julieta just can give them some food and done. The scale of the individual powers seem to dwindle as the generation goes on, the first gen, with the three siblings and then their kids, with only two, being useful, strength and plant growth. And maybe talking to animals, so they could help with farming or something. So, would the power keep dwindling, giving out interesting but useless powers with some minor excepts. Food for thought.

I lik he theory that its what the family needs, like bruno pepe and jilietta have useful practical to survive and emotion related, but that the candle even more wanted the "tackle youtr emotional isues" by giving all powers that are about self expressiion and literally listening . And mirabel to suceed the candle. The candle was gone when they fought and drited apart, and hurt each other. The candle definitly wanted the amily to sort out their trauma probably just going temporary after all the hint were ignored.

I mean, vision problems aren't exactly something that requires to be healed, Julieta for sure can heal all disabilities that there are, but for the most part, she would probably refuse since some people with disabilities can live just fine and swell and disability is not something that is exactly paining them or something they're embarrassed about, but certainly she could heal that if someone could just not live with it.

Antonio's gift is the gift I've wanted since I was a kid! I'm a huge animal lover and a fan of the Dr. Dolittle movies starring Eddie Murphy, Raven Symone, and Kyla Pratt. When I saw Antonio in the trailers and movie posters, I knew he'd become one of my favourite characters! But if Antonio wants to become a veterinarian he'll have to leave the Encanto to go to vet school. Maya Dolittle (played by Kyla Pratt) learned the hard way that the gift of talking to animals is no substitute for a DVM/VMD. The filmmakers stated that it's possible to leave the Encanto but that it would be nearly impossible to find your way back. So, leaving the Encanto for college doesn't seem to be an option for Antonio. Plus, having all his pets around could be seen as much as an inconvenience as Bruno's visions. Think about it. All those animals need to fed, washed, and cleaned up after. I'm not sure if that responsibility will fall squarely on Antonio's shoulders or if his family will help him.

It’s been established that Julietta’s powers do have limits. It doesn’t cure stuff like far/nearsightedness and allergies (as we see with Mirabel and Augustin), but for the most part is pretty handy :D

My list: 1. Isabela: Like you said, she can end starvation in the whole community, grow crops and make the community feel great. 2. Julieta: Making dinner with crops from Isabela is great and healing them is even better. 3. Luisa: Strength is always great if you want to help other people, you can move things and build things really easy. 4. Camilo: Shape shifting can have it's benefits, like he can help anyone in the family with tasks and take pressure off. 5. Bruno: Although it can be good and bad, knowing what the near future will bring can help the whole community prepare. 6. Antonio: Helps the community with friendly animals and getting things like milk. Meat would be dark though. 7. Pepa: It's a cool concept but the whole valley is already in a tropical place so it won't be that neccessairy. 8. Dolores: Only good if you hear people who call for help, otherwise not helpfull and make you crazy. Note: I'm not considering the mood/personality of the characters because that happens daily and while I do think all of them have their bad & good moments, at the end they help where they can. I've based this more on the help for the community and on the valley where they live.

I think the powers correlate directly with what abuela worries about or what she fears the most. The triplets got their powers after the valley is made safe by the encanto. But abuela is still suffering the immediate trauma of war and having to leave her home and the death of her husband. The Valley takes care of the soldiers and the village/ house so the big things a single mother has to worry about now is natural disasters, sickness/ injuries, and unexpected events. The triplets get powers to control the uncontrollable and keep the family safe. Then over the years Abuela's fears shift to more social than natural. The second generation you can divide into two featuring the two eldest of Peppa's and Julietia's family. Peppa's children are focused around people pleasing. Dolores hears everything so she can know everything about everyone and make decisions to keep the village happy and the family in good standing. Camillo is able to adapt to everyones needs and tastes by becoming a different person. Don't like a trouble making 15 year old? He can just become someone older. On Julietia's side the girls powers are to keep up the family reputation/image. Isabella does get a power over plants but it seems like especially just making flowers. I think she's meant to keep the Madrigal image in check. Of perfection, powerful magic and absolute virtue. Luisa does the same by keeping the image of madrigal strength and the service to the village they provide. Mirabel breaks this pattern by helping Abuela move past her fears and her destiny in becoming the next keeper of the encanto. Antonio you could say just talks to animals because abuela was scared the magic was dying and would have taken anything at that point. But I think it was Mirabel who decided Antonio's gift. She's the one who gives him the toy because she knows he loves animals. So Antonio get the ability to speak to animals just because it was the gift that would make him happiest.

I think antonio's gift could be very useful in situations where there is nobody around. say when someone needs rescue yet little antonio cant possibly help the person, with animals, yes he can. and being able to communicate with animals can also mean ultimate protection. someone attacking you? call on the entire forest like snow white can. animals can be as useful as humans if you understand them and they can understand you.

I wouldn’t rank Julieta as the best. According to the creators of Encanto, there are some diseases she can’t cure. So yeah, she can’t stop mass outbreaks with just her cooking. I would personally rank them like this: 8. Dolores. She can hear everything. This isn’t a gift, it’s a curse. She can’t handle her power and she hears murdering, childbirth, pooping, sex, children crying, etc. 7. Pepa. You don’t even get to control the entire clouds, you just control a cloud above your head. She probably got a lot of water in her womb in childbirth. 6. Antonio. This is for the same reasons in the video. You’d make the community happy, but hearing insects begging you to not kill them would be torture, especially for someone as young as Antonio. 5. Isabela. The plants she produces actually depends on her mood, so it’s likely that she can’t even produce edible flowers. That’s why she’s mid tier. 4. Bruno. Seeing the future is nice and all, but everyone in the village would just blame the messenger. Yeah, I’m outta here. 3. Camilo. You can literally fulfil anything in a person. You could probably even morph into animals to go through small gaps, and as seen in the film, morph into tall people to help people pin something. It doesn’t even require any effort, and Camilo is quite skilled with his power too, like when he was escaping the falling debris of Casita. 2. Julieta for the reasons I mentioned above. 1. Luisa. This is super useful. You can build, move heavy buildings around, etc.

What are the odds that a previous butterfly miraculous user channeled abuela's grief via akuma in the candle, which became the source of the family's other powers. If possible, a previous peacock miraculous user used their power to create the casita, making it a sentimonster, with the amok inside the candle as well. In any case, hawkmoth can easily take control of the house and the family via the existing akuma and/or amok in the candle (or possibly insert a new akuma/amok like with Fu's sentimonster). Uh-oh.

i agree with you but i think Deloris and peppa should switch, what if you're a person that dont get angry as much as the next person, then that power wouldn't be a issue. but nothing good comes out of hearing. first, if you have friends/family and hear them talk about you that could hurt your feelings, and it was said that she can hear for miles. so hearing every little thing 24/7 would drive anybody crazy. it was said by the creator that she has sound proof walls but it dont work 100% so i think that is the over all worse

Here's my ranking for that(worst to best): Julieta Dolores Camilo Bruno(needs large space and Ritual, only to get a little peek at the future) Antonio(his room gives him loads of different animals, including leopards) Pepa(hurricanes and incredibly dangerous, and so is lightning) Luisa ISABELLA(according to 'what else can i do?' she can make ANY PLANT. Carnivorous ones that attack humans, for example. She could easily defeat/kill someone, either by strangling them, growing things in their throat, growing a massive tree and then yeeting them off, etc.) I know they usually don't use their gifts offensively, but that how I like to rank fictional powers.

While sure those who probably have sensory overload can relate to her but Dolores is way too functional even during the movie to be like "I cry myself to sleep" so she probably is fine for the most part, but it got harder for her during Casita's breaking since magic is not working well and probably by that time the noise became unbearable and an actual noise, which also may allude to the fact that when a family is entering a crisis (Casita was breaking because the family was breaking and magic was fading because love was becoming conditional in Madrigals) those who listen to the "arguments" but don't act upon them wants to not listen to them because they're afraid they're going to end up so badly and would prefer to not hear it at all instead of hearing it but doing nothing about it because they can't.
