Smash Bros Lawl MAD Character Moveset: Jafar

Finally, Jafar gets his chance to make Lawlers BOW before their new sultan!
So this obviously isn't the 3rd silhouette so this is gonna need some explaining:
I was working on the silhouette's moveset for a couple months when I decided to watch back the work I finished on it just to see how it looks. The work done looked absolutely terrible and the moveset didn't make it look any better. My loss of interest in the character had come to me and I had just then realized it. So, I took a break for a little to see if my interest would come back. As you can see, it clearly didn't. So instead of making a half assed moveset of a great character, I decided to replace them with a character I had planned since the conception of MAD: Jafar. Like I said, he is the replacement so the original silhouette character may not come back.

It's nice to see another excellent moveset from Lawl MAD after a long hiatus, and this one may take the prize of my favorite moveset of this spinoff thus far. Jafar is already one of Disney's most memorable and sinister villains, and the entire moveset captures his personality excellently. I do like how the Neutral B can stop projectiles and remove traps, but also make his opponents bow before him rather than simply take damage, and how Iago can be used as someone who can steal items and projectiles from unsuspecting opponents. The Final Smash was a nice surprise, since Jafar is more powerful as a genie, but is limited in movement so he doesn't become too overpowered with it. In addition, all of the animations were perfect for him, ranging from the taunts ("You can't just parade around here uninvited!") all the way to his disgruntled losing pose. Overall, it's a fine addition to the cast of Disney villains in Lawl, and a unique addition to it in general.

Oh man, MAD is back! I was waiting for this for so long. Anyways, I feel this moveset is worthy for one of the most memorable villains of the Disney Renaissance era (along with the obvious Frollo and Gaston). I like how the moveset wasn't too complicated to understand yet the unusual effects for the moves seem to make Jafar a character that needs to be understood in order to be mained, which is fitting for someone like him. I also like the manipulative nature of the moves, from making people bow down to hypnotizing them to use their own items and projectiles to Jafar's advantage thanks to Iago. Oh and I found funny how his hypnosis was his Side B. It was probably unintentional but it reminded me of Toon Waluigi's Side B which was based on Jafar. It all goes full circle. It's those kinds of details which separate a good moveset from a great one, the ones that make you understand the character by watching the moveset. Even if I had never watched Aladdin I would have been able to get who Jafar is and his personality by watching just 7 and a half minutes of a Smash Bros parody. Oh yeah and seeing Yzma and Kronk with an idle animation made me cry tears of joy.

It’s great seeing MAD back again, and with a fun moveset for a great Disney villain- now we’ve got a strong Disney villain roster already with Frollo Gaston and Yzma! Anywho, I love how Jafar plays- you perfectly captured his personality and tactics in the moveset- hell, his move representation based off his actions in the movie is damn perfect. And the animation overall is seeing some great improvements, that Side Taunt in particular looks so smooth. Overall very nice job with this moveset, I can’t wait to see what else MAD has in store!

ECSTATIC New favorite moveset by you, it's excellent in every way. Jafar has so many tricks in just his first movie that making a moveset about him that's not too complicated requires thinking a lot outside the box.

That was excellent! MAD is back in force! I think this moveset was very awaited (and it was) and I’m glad you got to make a character you have always been planning. My fave moves are the Down B, which introduces an original mechanic, and the Final Smash, which I believe, introduces stationary power-up with different B moves... Honestly, way to go, can’t wait to see more

This was good, and honestly didn't expect this as i can understand why previous silhouette didn't work out for you. I like how all Jafar's moves weren't super original, but they still had a whole batch of standout concepts, and i loved the cameo from Yzma as well as the personalized backgrounds, unless they appeared earlier. I'd say Jafar would have rather manipulative playstyle, as he seems to be jack-of-all-trades, being able to attack the opponent near and far.

Yo, even if one hasn't watched Aladdin, they could totally get an idea of what Jafar's character is like thanks to the specials (he's got a superiority complex and likes snatching things okay), which is pretty impressive. While the guy is far from being one of my fav Disney villains, he is still a heel that's been needing the Lawl treatment for quite a while (primarily around the time Frollo Beats Up Evil Residents was going on) so I must commemorate ya for a job well done. Until the next MAD moveset, gracias for both this well-animated moveset and that Yzma cameo. Have a superb week and long live the Disney villains.
