It used to be only the 5 Gods could win majors, then Leffen and Plup did it, and now 5 more players have done it. Melee is evolving so much to this day. Jmook has to be next, he's been on the cusp of it so many times in this year alone.

In the 21 years of melee to date, only 18 separate players have won a major, with 10 different characters (Including aMSa with yoshi). Only 18 players, that’s crazy.

I think my top 3 wins at this point is, Wizzy at Smash n Splash, Axe and Smash Summit, and now AMSA at Big House 10. I am always a fan of the underdogs so much (wizzys my #1 cause the pop off is just pure gold)

I’m in the same boat! It will happen, and probably sooner than we all think! Imagine if it had barely gone the other way around with llod vs jmook at genesis. We would have seen llod in winners semis and possibly winners finals too. Insane

Axe's summit win gets me choked up every time. Amsa's win will probably do that as well. Those were the 2 I wanted to see win the most. Ever since I started watching melee I knew they were the players I liked the most but it wasn't until Genesis 6 where they were both playing game 1 and both got to 69% and took a few seconds to enjoy it. They will also do homie stocks for each other. They play to have fun when playing against each other and I love that. Also the fact that both of them won HUGE tournaments is so nice. Next will be Jmook, None, or Moky. I'd also like to see Lucky or S2J finally win one but im not holding my breath. Oh and llod or kodorin. Those 2 I think both have a good chance actually probably a better chance than everyone but Jmook.

Under liquipedia it’s listed as a national and aMSa was the second seed. I don’t know who the first seed was, but no one was above him on the pgr in top 8. I’d count it as a big regional including a lot of top talent. Big house for sure was his first major tournament win. And while I’m typing this out he won the off season. Dude is on a run 😂
