I’ve been following melee consistently since before the rise of Cody, and I think he seems like a pretty genuine and likable guy. I’ve seen him get a lot of hate over the years and I don’t really get why he is sometimes listed among the less likable players. I’m glad he was able to rise to the top of melee. I went from being a cody enjoyer to hater to respecter over the past 4 years. Can't hate the guy who proves himself over and over. However I still dont understand how we ended up with the first to 10 thing against zain. I dont want to discredit him I mean he was clearly deserving of being top 2 but he lost to Bing and morsecode. Zain didn't have any crazy upsets like that. I guess those aren't factored in or something. Also after one of those loses he went on the craziest losers run to date. One of the few times I was cheering for cody to win.

Cody's head to head rseults were much better vs the top 10 overall than Zain's head to head's, plus Cody had won 2 more events over Jmook who was a top 3 player at the time putting him at 6 events post big house compared to Zain's 4 wins, they also both agreed to settling the result for #1 in a best of 10 series, which means that without the agreement, Cody's highs would have outweighed Zain's no matter what players he lost to anyway
