I went down a rabbit hole with plank dlgs.. Made at least 10 of them over the course of 2 summers.. Vac bagged, pw1211 airfoils, sweep this, dihedral that, wide chord, long tapered wings.. Not one of them rivaled a glider with a tail behind.. There main issues were, flying too fast even at very light wing loadings.. Difficult to turn tightly without loosing too much height and unruly in anything over a gentle breeze.. In the end I sacked the idea off before I went mad.. Lol..

Nice! I’ve got an Dreamflight Alula Trek and really enjoy tossing it around with its pseudo-DLG launch. This seems to perform pretty similarly, though the Alula looks a little more “floaty.” What is the model you used as the basis for this experiment?

I like that idea! Super simple and low cost. Would a longer wingspan help it float better? Is that flying wing your design or from a kit? Your wing would have better penetration in the wind. I’m excited!

What is the wingsoan and weight. Did you need any lead for getting the right cog?

Yes mate it’s a slope combat wing so had to add 30 grms because of boom and fin next one is half the weight bigger wingspan 👌
