Chimera ant arc is fire there’s no way you think it was bad enough to drag the series down that much 😭. I agree it dragged on too much at some points but it had the best climaxes of anything in the story, the best character writing, the best villain, and the best ending. Literally made the tone of the show way darker in a good way, and let’s be real there were other arcs that dragged plenty like the Hunter exam and heaven’s arena, chimera ant arc is just more noticeable because it was more episodes.

@@EEvisu I feel like the chimera ant arc is very divisive, some say it’s peak and one of the best anime arcs ever and for others it made them drop the show or they just hate it. I’m definitely the former and I do understand the complaints about the pacing, but I otherwise loved it and I think it had great worldbuilding and peaks (like the end with Gon). I’m sorry you didn’t really enjoy it though but you’re not alone in that opinion at least.

I think people who are watching the show to actually get invested end up loving the chimera ant arc, but people who just want to watch a mindless action shounen don’t. If you’re watching HxH to get something like Demon Slayer, the Chimera Ant arc will definitely put you off even though it’s the greatest arc in any shounen anime by far

I think the reason smash stocks are on the decline is that there are so many hyped up big events like Kowloon or LTC that you would expect to be majors but then almost no one goes and then players complain about the lack of majors when these major calibur events are there but not everyone is going.

The chimera ant arc was the closest to navigating real-life dichotomies between men & monsters, with their polar extremes being crossed between two of the most polarizing characters in HxH. Most people who say they don’t like it only watch HxH for the cool (albeit very, very cool) anime fights 😂 they don’t want to deal with layers of character growth/transformation and just like to see interesting mechanics and hype moments. Nothing wrong with it, and I think it goes to show you how impressive HxH actually is because it caters to so many types of anime fans.

Cosmos's summary wasn't the best at representing the points Shizzy made about the vtuber community. Shizzy didn't say the whole community is racist but rather he said that there a lot of people in the vtuber community (both the vtubers and the audience) that will say or do something racist and almost nothing is done about it. It is actually more common to get ridiculed for pointing out when something racist happens in the community. Also, Shizzy was pointing out that a vast majority of vtuber models are pale skinned because most artists and model makers refuse to make dark skinned models. Overall, all the points Shizzy made have been brought up before but this is just the most attention the community has actually given to them and the reaction is not making the community look good.

For example, the Vtuber Kenji Sun has been open that his model is white because he couldn't get any one to make even a lightskinned black character model at the time. This also affects how some viewers look at non-pale skinned models as lesser. For example, when Ironmouse got a version of her model that had brown skin color (she is a Puerto Rican latina) some people got upset and claimed it made her model ugly.

IMO Hunter x Hunter ages poorly, I watched it recently for the first time. Quality wise its on par with the other amines it originally released with. Every arc ended abruptly or poorly (They just couldn't land the plane) The "Greed Island" was a difficult watch for me. It feels like they abandon a lot of really cool potential story elements as well.
