In the past, Hurt was famous for his strong Greninja, but he retired due to his many misdeeds. After his return, he started using various characters other than Greninja, one of which was Snake.

@@KilogramHours Yes, he participated in a rate-limited tournament at Tamisuma, the biggest online tournament in Japan at the time. The tournament was open to players with a rating below 1800, but Hurt was above that, so he participated under a fake name instead of using the name Hurt, and won. This caused a repercussion, and the tournament was no longer held. But now he's reformed and I don't think he's done anything wrong 😉

⁠@@チョけ太郎like I get it but that’s some of the most innocent “cheating” I’ve ever heard. It’s an online tournament and it was at the beginning of the pandemic. Not being able to play cause your rating is a little too high would piss me off too.

If I remember correctly, Hurt had got into some trouble on Smashmate earlier in his career cos of his rage, or lack of self control. It tells you how much you can improve as a player by improving your mentality.

Sonix isn't ult's most calm competitor imo, he's the surgeon of the game but his worst weakness is his tendance to lose control in tense situations, always in grands where he simply runs outta stamina it seems. His reset against Zomba for exemple, or the luminosity invitational, or lvl up expo.

I would recommend changing the video title in order to help gain visibility but the video seems to weirdly not know whether it's a spotlight on the Four Horsemen(apparently an era in 2023 mostly pretty much) or about Hurt being a rising star in 2023. I had to look up what the four horseman were in the context of smash. On KZbin, the first video was sub 10k views from 4 months ago from an unknown channel and the other was about how the four horsemen era is over anyway and there are like 5 different people who have won majors over these apparent four horsemen this year.

Upon a bit more research, apparently this is almost entirely a Twitter thing. I think this was a really cool video overall but it kind of missed the mark imo as a smasher who isn't active on Twitter by leaning so heavily into a mostly Twitter specific term.

That Acola win was in 2022, so before the horsemen era yeah. Same for Shuton's wins on Sparg0, Sonix and Acola(all end of 2022).

The disrespect to Leo saying that Acola game 5 is way more potent than Game 4 Leo… I’m disappointed at this in so many levels. Leo is the only God of Ultimate, and back on his prime also post Covid he continued to be a dominant force up until Genesis 9. One year of falling off and everyone forgets the who the GOAT is.

This was a great video I would be hyped if the smash scene called hurt the fifth horseman. The way he performed this year I could see hurt being invited to the horseman round table he derserves his spot among the other top 4 players he has shown me that he had earned the right to be a top 5 player and has earned my complete respect for being the first player in 2024 to beat acola. This is not the first time but it is acolas first true loss in 2024 his last set loss was still Followed by acola winning this years delta tournament.

*in the horsemen era, he said. Light beat Acola in mid-2022, so before the horsemen era. Obviously Acola was already really good, but it's not quite the same. Also, Shuton is actually the first to have a win on all 4. He beat Sparg0 at Ludwig, Acola a few times in 2022, Sonix at scuffed world tour and Miya at Kowloon 5, so long before Light's recent win on Miya. Game 4 Leo is obviously really cool because it's part of a reverse 3-0, but Game 5 Acola has objectively happened far more often, which isn't surprising since Acola doesn't have to reverse 3-0 his opponent, he ''just'' has to clutch game 5.
