This time...thank you ITTF. A match I've long wanted to see. Was this Wang's last ever victory over Zhang? She certainly earned it. Great performance.

I remember this sizzling rivalry very well. These two women really made each other better through it. But in the end, it was Zhang who had the last laughs in a few years after this match.

Also coz they are not exactly players of the same era. Wang Nan primed earlier. This time was already the rivalry between Zhang and Guo

@@shihyuinchew8494 Just because players are similar in age doesn't mean they hit their prime at the same time. Ma Long and Zhang Jike are the same age, but it was Zhang that peaked in his game and won the big prizes some years before Ma did. Everyone has a different time to hit their prime unless they're too old to remain in their prime.

@@seekthetruths22 ya so what did you mean? That Zhang and Wang are players of the same era? I don’t get the point you’re trying to set out here. If you were following Table Tennis closely during that period of time, you know Wang Nan had descended much earlier. So it’s of no surprise Zhang Yining won more in later encounters. In fact it’s kinda a surprise that Wang Nan won here.

@@shihyuinchew8494 I remember that it was Wang Nan that reached her peak a few years earlier than Zhang, especially in terms of experience and the mental aspect of the game, so Zhang lost most of the games against her before she got her own skills and experience to be on top. But I don't think it's wrong to say they competed in the same era because their ages weren't that far apart to be categorized into totally different generations.

@@seekthetruths22 ma long peaked way before Zhang. He just got outplayed by wang hao in those big tournaments
