Thank you Prof. Young - Great advice! I also noticed that once I learned to be able to frame better in bottom position, it alleviated a significant amount of the top pressure to a "bearable" amount...thx for vid! Love the channel!

I weigh 145 pounds. Almost everyone is bigger than me. Sucks man. Just took me way longer than bigger guys to turn the tables on em.

I had this exact same thing- it's not rational so the logical thinking routine doesn't work. I bet it continues- if so try this: If he does heavy lifting is central nervous system will be stressed, stop going to failure, next practice apnea training regularly from a free freediving app. Lastly Wim Hoff breathing technique followed by focussing on breathing out when rolling, it gets the co2 out and stops the panic reflex triggering. Trust me on this. Give it time too.

My professor always says "Just don't forget to breathe, if you don't breathe you die!"

I have trouble with real legit medically diagnosed panic disorder. When I ask myself. Am i going to die, its not a silly thing. Its a very strong possibility that I may, in my mind. People who dont have this disorder can usually convince themselves that if they frame or find an airpocket they will be fine. With me its so bad that when my panic attacks kick in i no longer even care if i find an airpocket or frame i just want to tap and run out of the gym. It even happens when im on top. It doest happen all the time though but i have my days where it does and anything can triger it. What do you suggest in this kind of situation?

Well, when you RATIONALLY ask yourself that, and if you know you’re not gonna… Take it one day at a time. Beat your panic today. If you do, great. You now have the formula for beating it. If you don’t beat it today, there’s always a chance to try again tomorrow.

Funny that this video just posted. I just started BJJ about seven weeks ago. We got some technic and exercise and the second half we wrestle or how you call it, with each member for five minutes. The second lesson I went there and one member did a quick throw so quickly I couldn't react and before I knew it. I was smashed sideways on my ribs and the second after I felt hiss full weight crashing on my other side of the ribs. It hurt like hell and i am now already seven weeks at home. pain stops me from exercising anymore. Ribs are bruised the doctor said. I will try next week to enter a new leson, it's not fully over the pain but I can't stay at home for four months either :-) But somehow I am worried because at speed it went and the force I think I am lucky I didn't break them. What will happen de third or fourth lesson was I just lucky or will I end in the hospital? Most of them are great and nice people this was a white belt but he later told me he did Japanse JJ before. And he was also more muscle and weight compared to me. I cannot start each wrestle session with please don't break my ribs then I feel like a real loser. But somehow I worried I have a wife and a father to take care for. If something happens to me then they are also in trouble. Still I want to learn BJJ so badly so I can defend myself or her in case of trouble So I am fighting against myself should I quit and be 100 procent safe or go ahead and see it as a one time only accident? Sorry for the long story I didn't know where to put it. And if the English is bad sorry it's not my primary language.

Just move on. It won't happen often. Tell your partner that he should go light. Ps. Your english is very good

Please Bro just tell them do not go so hard. Your not being a wimp for that. I have a back and shoulder problem and before i train with anyone I tell them. I was once training with this big dude that was really hyped up and he really did not know the new technique that the teacher showed us and I told him hey bro slow down your are to hyped you might hurt someone. Even the teacher told him calm down. And if you think the person is being to rough do not roll with him get someone else.

@Full Circle Jiu Jitsu no it was only my second day I went there. But I try next week and see what happens en indeed ask then to roll nice, especially that one guy.
