Instead of lugging a plate, a pepper shaker, a salt shaker, and a 1 pound bag of flour- why not mix all those ingredients ahead of time and place it into a large ziplock bag. Then when you are ready to coat the Ormers (or whatever you wanna batter) you can just chuck them in the ziplock bag and shake them around a bit. Might free up some space in that backpack 👌

I love how you help your next man forager out and fill his bag, too! Share the wealth God gave us! Thank you for not being, as you all say “wankers”, think you all are wonderful, and I wished we lived closer to the ocean to do some foraging also! Can’t wait to see how it all cooks up! I think, the ormers? We call abalone here is the US. Closely regulated on the west coast as it’s expensive and there is a limit to how many you can take. I hope you all really enjoyed the feast of the ocean!💥⭐️💫
@SMASHFISHING5 жыл бұрын
Kim Lorton lovely comment thank you , yes the (ormers ) are an abalone but different species to you I think, we have very strikes rules on them also an can only gather them on a few days of the year , thanks for watching 👌

From New Zealand guys, I dive for sea urchins, or uni, to others, in New Zealand we call it, kina. Abalone, called paua, in New Zealand, grays, and whatever and so on. point is I'm use to getting in the sea, for food. You guys amaze me, and not even getting wet, to get food, and loved the cook ups, totally blow away guys, awesome.

That "top knot" - we call flounder in the state's - that size isn't legal here. My smallest one I've caught was 5 lbs. - clean it, make a foil pouch for it, add a bit of olive oil, butter, lemon pepper seasoning, thinly sliced lemons then wrap it up in the foil and throw on the grill - comes out so delicious....

@Jay here’s you a tip for battering fish or anything you want to fry or bread. Use a ziploc or zip top bag to put your flour and seasoning in and bread& batter your catch that way. It also cuts down on the weight you have to carry up & down the beach. You can pre mix the batter & have it in the zip top bag.

You should look again at the Dulce, 240grams of Dulce costs currently £16 including postage. I know because I buy it. And the state that it arrives it has been dried and cleaned of crustaceans sea lice and shells. We eat it as a snack much like you would eat a packet of crisps.
