Holy shit, thank you. Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, and I’ve wanted Crono in Smash ever since I beat it... This render is next to exactly how I’d thought it would look in Smash, hearing this was a mostly one man project makes me very thankful it ever got done in the first place, thank you. I’m taking this as an early birthday gift considering it’s only 5 days away. Also that music was great.

when I was younger I always wished the one of Akira Toriyama's characters would make it in, you guys made me wish for Chrono. We did eventually get Hero though which I could not be happier about. Crono’s “socks” or “leg warmers” are equivalent to, I would imagine, what would be foot wraps, like how a martial artists would wrap their hands and or feet before a match or fight; similarly so as ninjas would wrap their ankles and wrists.

16:40 Funny, I thought that exact same thing when I discovered Chrono Trigger on the PlayStation. I was scouring Google for inspiration to a story I was working on, found a small avatar pic of Crono I thought looked cool but that it was a game no one knew about, did some research and then learned how famous it actually was. Funny thing though, I find that Chrono Trigger sorta exists in this grey area where it is one of the most renowned games of all time that everybody knows... and yet nobody knows about it when asked.

8:34 It is a sock, particularly in the context of hiking I believe. Not all that common, but it is one way to help protect from bugs, or I believe it also occasionally is used to trap in body heat. Basically any situation you might want your legs sealed off from the elements. Again I dont think its particularly common but on a scale of realistic to weird anime design elements, it does actually lean towards real. (Toeless I guess is just meant to feel more historic? Or maybe its just some traditional japenese thing I dont know about.)

Super Saiyan God Trunks with katana! Nah, I love Chrono Trigger. I've played that game more than any other RPG. Though it's weird to think of him having a bag because it's completely missing from his in game sprites. Kinda like how Robo actually has a cannon arm with a nifty little chain on it, but he just has two normal hands in game. Also, it should be Crono: Strikes like Lightning!

I've always heard that Crono's main weapon is the Lode Sword, which does have a very similar design to the official artwork as well.

That's a good point, you might be correct. Since also the concept art also often shows the white wraps on the sheath like the Lode/Silver Sword has. The silver cap at the end of the handle was throwing me off though when choosing between them.

@@dsimpson7476 It's doubtful considering from the looks of things, they are adding characters based on how much other people want them in and/or how relevant they are today and sadly Chrono has neither of those things going for him. Their are a bunch of other characters a lot more people want in more than him and he's not really relevant today compared to other Square characters like Sora and Noctis
