There's a fun fact about Spring Stadium in Smash Bros Ultimate: When the stage was launch alongside Min Min, the billboard display did show SpringMan's image but with the logo belonging to SpringTron, which is a robotic copy of SpringMan. This mistake was corrected in the 8.1.0 update.

Forgot to mention: • Garreg Mach Monastery - You can destroy shops. • Spring Stadium - Other Arms fighters can be seen in the screens. • Northern Cave - Many of the dungeon's set-pieces from the original game can be seen during the descent. • Cloud Sea of Alrest - The clouds behave more like water, so it'd be more accurate to say Gramps swims on the clouds. It IS a cloud sea, after all • Dive to the Heart - The symbols on the border of Terra's and Ventus' stations are not "Terra's Symbol", since the two of them and Aqua wear that symbol as badges on their persons.

The Dracula Castle stage is also a huge nod to Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night. The enemy designs are taken from them such as the Werewolf or Death, and Dracula's silhouette is similar to his depiction in Rondo with the wavy front hair. Also the broken staircase is a direct reference to how it was in SotN with it being broken so that it required Alucard to gain more abilities before being able to face Richter/Shaft. Also you forgot to mention how the climb towards Dracula's literally has the Clock Tower as an element in the background in nearly very Castlevania game, so it wasn't just something Smash added for decoration.

I love that Terry's the only DLC character to get a Smash original stage, though it is kind of a combination of the KOF12 "stadium" stage and KOFXIV's super arena. Definitely my favorite stage in the game!

The lore of Hollow Bastion isn't that simple. The world of Radiant Garden was ravaged by the Heartless after the disappearance of Ansem the Wise, the world's ruler. Maleficent would later take over the castle as her base of operations while Riku was being possessed by Ansem the Wise, the heartless of Xehanort, the series main antagonist. For the village seen in Minecraft's stage, I'd imagine the rest of the village might just be at a lower altitude down in the bottom blast zone. I've had villages spawn in mountainous regions before, resulting in extremely uneven terrain where a lot of the village was functionally inaccessible. This is, of course, assuming one can't see what is down in the blast zone when controlling the camera.

Hollow Bastion being in Smash means that FF7 techincally has 3 stages in Smash. Because if youve played the KH games you'd find out that Radiant Garden is the Kingdom hearts equivalent to the world of FF7, since that's when the Kingdom hearts versions of the FF7 cast grew up in.

In 20:58 for context of how much people loved/memed on Gatekeeper. There is a yearly event in the mobile gacha game of Fire Emblem, called Choose Your Legends, that consists on voting for the most popular characters, and the Top 2 of the Female and Male categories earn a new costume based on something special for the character (Father's clothes, advanced promotion, timeskip, etc.) During the 5th iteration of it, everyone was so on board with voting Gatekeeper, that he won 1st place and Marth 2nd place in the Male Division, making him the first NPC to win this event, he just made in with regular outfit but it was so unreal that an NPC basically beat the face of the franchise lmao

There were only 4 new stages in the base game (New Donk City Hall, Great Plateau Tower, Moray Towers, and Dracula's Castle). Small Battlefield was added via the Version 8.1.0 update.

given all the insane details & references each game/series has gotten for these stages, I continue to wonder & dream about what we could have had with Lara Croft, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Stealth Elf ( to specifically represent Skylanders so Spyro can be focused on his main series ), Mike Jones from StarTropics, Chibi-Robo, Shantae and Travis Touchdown had they been added as fighters ( among many others ). Heck, one of my biggest wants for a Smash fighter is Ray 01 from Custom Robo with a Holosseum stage that transforms a la the Pokemon Stadiums with each form being a different stage design from across the 5 Custom Robo games....
