Fantastic album that sort of both has that 80's vibe and a contemporary sound and at the same time does not sound like anything out there today. I also have to say it has that Pumpkins-sound to it, although in another universe. This was truly refreshing to listen to, and a great addition to the ever so evolving catalogue of Smashing Pumpkins albums. Lets enjoy this music now, and be excited for the Machina re-issue and the sequel to that and MCIS. A lot of music on the way from Corgan, Iha, Chamberlin and Schroeder. Can't wait!
@86Starcaves4 жыл бұрын
I'm concerned about the machina reissue with the overdubs billy is adding in 2020 though. Would anyone want to hear Pet Sounds with Wilson added overdubs in '87? Or Nevermind if Grohl added parts in 2011? Billy can't accept that he isn't as good as he was 20 years ago

@@86Starcaves Billy is as good as he ever was. He can still do the parts from back then. You won't hear anyone sounding exactly the same as 20 years ago, everyone evolves musically wheter it's style or voice. I have no fears of overdubs on the Machina re-issue, have faith. :)

@granhalfdanarsonellingsen97004 жыл бұрын
@@86Starcaves it's okay that you disagree. But what are you doing here then in a commentary field complaining about SP and Billy Corgan in 2020? The old music is still there, go and enjoy those albums. As a musician myself, you can't always hit the jackpot on all releases, and you can never go out with the goal of pleasing other people with how they expect the music to be. I'm not telling you to embrace new SP, if you don't like the music you don't like it, but you have the options, the old era is there.

It's understandable that longtime pumpkins fans wants to hear once again "that" long lost pumpkins sound, or at least something related to that era, i think i'm one of those fans. It's also understandable that things change, music change, Billy has changed and living of expectations inside a sort of nostalgic bubble leads to a eternal disappointment. So let's judge these songs for what they represent today, placing them inside the today's musical enviroment. They sucks.

Sadly, I agree. SP was one of my favorite bands, if not my favorite. I want to continue to love them. But, this just isn't working. Might be fine as a solo project, but this doesn't sound like a band to me at all. Yes, I love Adore and Machina and even Zwan. Something is just really missing here. I want to hear Jimmy play the drums, not some weird sampled handclap sound. Where is James? He really brought some of those songs from Adore to life, live.
