Mainstage with Leo v Spargo was one of the greatest sets of all Ultimate.

Amazing video! Loved the format to feature multiple players! A couple things I felt that were worth mentioning. At 4:03 in the section about tech jumping stage spikes, you can also hold the jump button (while pressing shield) to perform it rather than having to hold up on the control stick. It's a good alternate option especially if you don't want to unwillingly DI upwards during knockback. The second one is during Sonix's clip right before he full hop fairs Roy's up b landing lag at 13:06. I'm not sure if he realized but he did a coyote jump letting him skip jumpsquat frames, letting him punish Roy in good time with fair. It's not a well known tech but it did caught my eye so I figured it was worth sharing.

Really great video! Tons of information, cleanly broken down, and some high-level examples with commentary to boot! Great stuff. Top 5 edge guarders off the top of my head would be pika, sheik, lucina.. maybe falco and sora? Idk, depending on the matchup, it could be jigs. But other characters like arsene joker, zss even greninja, are up there too. Edit: Immediately after posting remembered Sonic, probably better than falco for edge guards
AINTNOWAY you guys put Terry back air as the example for stage spiking

Did the video talk about tether recoveries?
@matthewcurtiss7557 Жыл бұрын
Not really. My trick is run offstage and body block the ledge while throwing out a hit box (usually nair) when you expect their tether to come out. Better strategy for characters with multiple jumps. Just gotta watch out for byleth reversaling you

Very cool, but Ledge Trapping is better ;p
@hectorneros7171 Жыл бұрын
Agree ledge trapping requires a person to bait out panic options and punish while maintaining stage control and I personally go for ledge trap more than ledge guard
