Great episode. Love the part about playing around your opponents wincon. It's something I feel like people vaguely understand they should do, but most players slip up on very often. Even at high levels, you can often see a point where the player gave up an advantageous position to try to force something and then gave their opponent the perfect position to get their wincon going. Dope topic

If y’all don’t already, y’all should try streaming some of these podcasts to get questions from us in real time: Maybe like a “Ask a Coach” episode once a month 🎉

I'm kinda late on that one, but I loved it, I feel like it's one of the most important topic, especially being aware of your opponent's win conditions ; to me it's almost more important than your own win conditions, but it also increases the mental stack quite a lot. Thanks for the good work as always!

Hey! I have a question / request from y'all. I am really interested in what Ramses is talking about around 40:00. You mention "stage control, spacing, fastfall timing, time mixup, and (jump art?) mixups etc. etc." Would you be willing to provide a list of the etc. etc.? Having an idea of the words and concepts y'all use to go through what these options are would be absolutely incredible and something I would really, really appreciate.

Gotta say, I really appreciate these. Wife and I had kiddo number 2 a few months ago. Listening to these while trying to get him back to sleep at 2am really help me keep sanity. Thanks guys.

Editor Alto here! I forgot I sent this for two instead of 230 meeting. I was late and promoting it! Onto the episode of itself, honestly one of my favorites. For this episode I really wanted to try and get some visual resources too because of the amazing insight Tony, Charles, and Ramses gave. Unfortunately, the space on my hard drive was so small that if I did that, I don’t think I could’ve gotten this episode out…. However, this is a topic I am really interested in! Coming from a TCG standpoint a lot of what can be applied to this episode can be applied there. Of course there are differences. Same as there would be differences between a traditional fighting game and a platform fighting game. But yeah, this is actually gotten me really motivated to the point where I want to make a small follow up on this coaches corner to explain a few things that can be generally applied. If y’all wanna see that, feel free to tell me! As always, remember to like, comments, subscribe, and give the channel your support! The more support we get the more often we can make these kind of awesome videos where even I get the learning stuff from these awesome guys! Also expect some Rivals 2 content in the near future!

I do play Lucario. How do you think I should manage my win con in an disadvantageous mu? For example against a faster character with a sword (more range than me) and great ledgetrap (bad position for Lucario) like Roy or Cloud. Since I know I am already in bad spot at the beginning of the match I try to be more aggressive at the beginning, also using my low dash and dtilt to hurtboxshift under their aerials. Basically I go on the offense in order to force trades and damage or even win neutral and setup an edgeguard. I believe they generally think I’ll be more defensive so I am also trying to force a surprise factor on them. What do you think?
