Love how Bilbo introduces himself to Smaug here with all he has done so far to keep the dialog interesting and catch Smaug's undivided attention while he does what he needs to do. Looks to me this Bilbo is way smarter than PJ's Bilbo.

It's honestly neither of them were very true to the book because the animated version doesn't have any mention of the Arkenstone or beorn or the master of laketown or dragon sickness or thrain or thror or the blue mountains

Benedict Cumberbatch is still the better voice. The original cartoon and whoever redubbed Smaug, sounded kinda plain and boring. Cumberbatch made Smaug's voice more sinister and cunning and far more pwerful. He is basically like Christopher Lee, a powerful and charismatic voice and is threatening.
