I think this setup would be better classified as a "gap and go" day. The market internals, specifically the Advance Decline, only start near 2000/-2000 on a gap up/down day. However, there are days where there's a morning top reversal and the market trends the rest of the day. The Advance Decline may not even be near 2000 at the beginning of these days but will end up near 2000/-2000 by the end. Similarly with the VOLD on these days, it would start near 1 or 2 but will continually stack throughout the day until its >5. These are true trending days and aren't able to be predicted by what the internals show, at least not in the first 30 mins of the day.

100% agree. We got one of these today in fact. Other nuanced trend day types are a bit beyond the scope of this video as we wanted to start with identifying only the most clear ones first. Maybe we can expand on this in the future

On a trend day, the day's low (high) is generally made during the first thirty minutes and is not exceeded, and there is a new high (low) made during the 11 am hour EST.

I think besides the overwhelming addition of clarity about the overall market conditions on the given day and also the overall trend it can help traders to resolve way more types of individual issues in their trading than the given example in the beginning. I especially see potential for very cautious traders, who do their homework in selection and applying their playbook for the entries, but struggle to find the proper exit out of uncertainty about the market conditions because they are either too doubtful or agressive. Trend days are my worst days. I find them to be counterintuitive. They are my worst performing days and i usually dont figure out whats going on until be stopped out multiple times. You can not apply the same logic as non trend days. That being said thank you for the video.

This is an awesome video. It's one of the best trading videos I've ever seen. The format, pacing, explanations, and examples, all work perfectly together to illuminate the problem and its solution. I too have traded all day on the wrong side of a few trending days, and they were awful, expensive experiences. I've wondered how to know early in the day if we're entering a trending day. This does work. It worked for me last on the 25th of April on the $SPY. I rushed it a bit. I think that getting in at 9:30 MST would have been more ideal. I noticed that on a day where it is over 6000 ticks by 9:30 it makes the move.😎

I must say this is one of your most insightful and detailed video and definitely ranks among the top5 of all time! garrett is such a great presentator. i also use those market internals in trading and usually after I have my 3 wins I say its enough and I shouldnt overexpose myself to the market but in reality its this kind of day where I need more confidence to stay there and put on risk, whereas I am wasting risk on nothing days. Absolutely the best trading video I have ever watched. But 2 questions I have. 1 Bollinger Band Squeeze does not apply when Identifying a Trend Day? Also, you mentioned how a RVol of 3 or higher does not apply to SPY or QQQ. Is there an RVol level that would apply to either of these ETFS to indicate their in play for a possible trend day?

As i viewed the content several times, I am stuck trying to insert below the charts of main internals $Vold, $ADD abd $tick, either the histogram below the $Vold, the $Tick or the line below the $ADD to firm up the visual aspect.
